The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Kevin Paião charged in rather forcefully in the 11th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. After 18 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for AllRaf EC! 19 minutes into the match, Adolfo Ramalho had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Davi Freire. AllRaf EC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Adolfo Ramalho was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-0. Davi Freire showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Kevin Paião, who was totally free with the ball in the 23rd minute. In the 24th minute, Murilo Pestana made a precise shot to the right of Davi Freire. AllRaf EC's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 3-0. After having played for 36 minutes, Edu Favoretto managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. AllRaf EC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Edu Favoretto was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Luizinho Catarinense might have been able to make a better finish in the 38th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Paulo Esparteiro. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Luizinho Catarinense ran back to his position shaking his head. Davi Freire made a fantastic save in the 42nd minute, when Patrício Saldanha sent off a good shot on target. Bernardo Couto sent away a hard shot on goal in the 46th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 3-0.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Adolfo Ramalho made a kick off. An unexpectedly hard shot by Luizinho Catarinense in the 54th minute of play forced Delta FS's goalkeeper Paulo Esparteiro to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 55th match minute, Delta FS was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Yuri Souto to maneuver through the defense. After some fancy dribbling in the 69th minute, Kevin Paião managed to get in a good position for a shot. Delta FS's supporters rose to their feet, but Kevin Paião was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Davi Freire breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick.
