Spectators: 7448 (Terracing: 5683, Seating: 1700, VIP seats: 65) It was fairly windy and cold on the field when Ruy Lara kicked off to start the match. The supporters of Clube Atl. Taquaritinga booed when MelissaMel was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 8 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ruy Lara didn't get a good kick on the ball. Arlindo Tepedino took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Nestor Galvão, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 14th minute, Alberto Vale ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Arlindo Tepedino was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-1. Ruy Lara fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 21st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Antônio Ferreira having to interfere. After 22 minutes, Claudinho Esteves mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the MelissaMel and the Clube Atl. Taquaritinga players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 22nd match minute, MelissaMel was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Claudinho Esteves to maneuver through the defense. Fiori Guimarães, 23 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. Clube Atl. Taquaritinga's Antônio Ferreira proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 27th minute of the match, managed to save Clube Atl. Taquaritinga from getting a goal against them. Antônio Ferreira made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Arthur Travassos in the 28th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ruy Lara in the 31st minute of play forced Clube Atl. Taquaritinga's goalkeeper Antônio Ferreira to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 35 minutes of play, Clube Atl. Taquaritinga's Nestor Galvão made it 0-3 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Arlindo Tepedino was left in no man's land by his defense there! The audience was convinced that Clemente Montenegro's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Antônio Ferreira was relentless in the 40th minute of the game. After a rather tough play, Clube Atl. Taquaritinga's Fiori Guimarães got a free kick in the 41st minute. Alberto Vale sent away a hard shot on goal in the 43rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After 44 played minutes MelissaMel got a freekick which was hit by Celso Valadares. Claudinho Esteves kicked well hit freekick during the 47th minute of the match. Clube Atl. Taquaritinga's Nestor Galvão got a good chance for a goal in the 48th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-3.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Nestor Galvão was the one to do the kick off. In the 53rd minute, Clube Atl. Taquaritinga's Nestor Galvão dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 0-4. The crowd rose to their feet as Vânderson De la Cruz kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Arlindo Tepedino. That made the score 0-5 in the 56 minute of play. Fiori Guimarães charged in rather forcefully in the 58th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Fiori Guimarães the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The supporters of MelissaMel booed when Clube Atl. Taquaritinga was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 58 match minutes in a wonderful position. Fiori Guimarães didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 60th minute, Clemente Montenegro got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the last second Arlindo Tepedino throw himself and got hold of the ball when Nestor Galvão in the 63rdth minute from his position got away a shot towards the right post. In the 65th minute, Ruy Lara ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Antônio Ferreira was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-5. Clube Atl. Taquaritinga's Carlinhos Baiano was substituted for Humberto Andrade. MelissaMel's defense didn't have a chance, in the 70th minute, when Délio Coelho scored to the left of an out of position Arlindo Tepedino, making the score, 1-6. With a little luck, MelissaMel's Arlindo Tepedino got control of the ball when Délio Coelho tried to sneak it across the goal line. Arlindo Tepedino made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Délio Coelho in the 75th minute of play. In the 78th minute of the match, Délio Coelho got a very nice opportunity to score, but Arlindo Tepedino was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. In the 83rd minute, Fiori Guimarães hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Antônio Ferreira made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Dagoberto Albuquerque in the 84th minute of play. Arlindo Tepedino made a fantastic save in the 86th minute, when Délio Coelho sent off a good shot on target. In the 92nd minute Ruy Lara shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Antônio Ferreira saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Arlindo Tepedino showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Carlinhos Baiano in the 97th minute of the match. The Clube Atl. Taquaritinga supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Clube Atl. Taquaritinga would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
