One of MelissaMel:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Garanhão do SUL:s goal. Gonçalo Lobo walked up to take care of the penalty kick. He was aiming for the top corner, but the ball went just outside the post. The crowd rose to their feet as Garanhão do SUL's Tomás Cerqueira slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of João Francisco de Toledo. That made the score 1-0 after 15 minutes of play. 20 minutes into the game, Patrício Poças cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 2-0. João Francisco de Toledo was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. 24 minutes into the game, Tomás Cerqueira recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of João Francisco de Toledo. Tomás Cerqueira showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 3-0. Gonçalo Lobo came free with the goalkeeper in the 27th minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and João Francisco de Toledo could save by the left post. The crowd rose to their feet as Garanhão do SUL's Tomás Cerqueira slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of João Francisco de Toledo. That made the score 5-0 after 33 minutes of play. After 35 played minutes Garanhão do SUL got a freekick which was hit by Artur Curado. Tostão Lopez kicked well hit freekick during the 40th minute of the match. 41 minutes into the match, MelissaMel's goal looked a bit too open when Gonçalo Lobo came free, but João Francisco de Toledo reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The supporters of MelissaMel booed when Garanhão do SUL was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 43 match minutes in a wonderful position. Silvério Brochado didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 44th minute, Ruy Lara left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The MelissaMel fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 5-1.

An unexpectedly hard shot by Patrício Poças in the 54th minute of play forced MelissaMel's goalkeeper João Francisco de Toledo to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Celso Valadares took the ball and in the 58 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Raimundo Delgado. Raimundo Delgado dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 5-2. After 62 minutes, Patrício Poças mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Garanhão do SUL and the MelissaMel players grew even worse after the yellow card. A collision led to Garanhão do SUL getting a freekick after 62 minutes play. Patrício Poças hit a great ball. MelissaMel's Ruy Lara was standing unmarked in front of the goal when he, in the 63rd play minute, got the ball and easily drilled it into the goal. MelissaMel's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Garanhão do SUL the free kick. After some careless play in the MelissaMel defense, Bruno Silva kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of João Francisco de Toledo. The MelissaMel fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that João Francisco de Toledo should have stopped the shot. If Tomás Cerqueira had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 86th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Garanhão do SUL's Raimundo Delgado proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 94th minute of the match, managed to save Garanhão do SUL from getting a goal against them. In the 95th minute, Silvério Sabrosa hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Garanhão do SUL's supporters were highly satisfied with the result. They cheered their team of the pitch, having watched them win a very even match.
