Matthew Edwards showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Luís Fabiano de Toledo, who was totally free with the ball in the 15th minute. The supporters of Cremonese FC booed when Club Atlético de Newell was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 16 match minutes in a wonderful position. Kasey Gobey didn't get a good kick on the ball. Iuri Peres received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 19th minute. Matthew Edwards tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Régis Koehler struck a weak shot in the 21st minute. Matthew Edwards didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Cremonese FC. In the 24th match minute, Club Atlético de Newell was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Seth Tanner to maneuver through the defense. In the 28th minute Claudinei Nogueira shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Matthew Edwards saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Basil Holden's late challenge caught a Cremonese FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Claudinei Nogueira was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 37th played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

After 61 played minutes Luís Fabiano de Toledo rounded Club Atlético de Newell's defense and shot a beautiful shot into goal via left pole - 1-2. After a defensive mix-up in Club Atlético de Newell's zone, Caio Berger stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Matthew Edwards came out of the goal and Caio Berger tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Caio Berger could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 80th minute of the match, but Matthew Edwards made a huge save. Natanael Alvarenga showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Benji Kay, who was totally free with the ball in the 81st minute. Ollie Bright's late challenge caught a Cremonese FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Ollie Bright helped the player get up and apologised. When the match had gone on for 87 minutes, Kasey Gobey put it in 2-2 from a short distance just to the right of Natanael Alvarenga. Bernardo de Amorim hit a great freekick 91 minutes into the match. In the 92nd minute of the match Kasey Gobey shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Natanael Alvarenga showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Seth Tanner charged in rather forcefully in the 94th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Seth Tanner the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. A collision led to Club Atlético de Newell getting a freekick after 94 minutes play. Seth Tanner hit a great ball. When Claudinei Nogueira came up free with the goalie in the 94th minute, the Cremonese FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Claudinei Nogueira couldn't finish the play. When the referee blew the final whistle, you could see the dissatisfaction in the Cremonese FC players' eyes. They were disappointed they hadn't taken more from the game.
