The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. After some fancy dribbling in the 8th minute, Tanju Tecmil managed to get in a good position for a shot. Hatayspor's supporters rose to their feet, but Tanju Tecmil was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Stano Radolský breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. JuSi Malacky's Stano Radolský played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ahmet Gündüz Yesari in the 13th minute of play. The audience thought a goal was coming when Miroslav Kopčaj got free with Ahmet Boran Mirza in the 16th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. JuSi Malacky were awarded a corner in the 17th minute after Hatayspor's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Ladislav Sylvestr took the corner. The corner ended in Ladislav Sylvestr almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Hatayspor's Ahmet Boran Mirza did a great save. With an all-out effort, JuSi Malacky's Ahmet Boran Mirza threw himself towards the right post 23 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Filip Gombuš, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. Ahmet Boran Mirza took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ladislav Sylvestr, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Stano Radolský made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ahmet Gündüz Yesari in the 27th minute of play. After 28 minutes, Emil Šefčík mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the JuSi Malacky and the Hatayspor players grew even worse after the yellow card. After a rather tough play, JuSi Malacky's Emil Šefčík got a free kick in the 28th minute. In the 31st minute, Ahmet Gündüz Yesari ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Stano Radolský was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-1. 34 minutes into the game, Miroslav Kopčaj cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-1. Ahmet Boran Mirza yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 2-1. The crowd rose to their feet as Miroslav Kopčaj kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Ahmet Boran Mirza. That made the score 3-1 in the 42 minute of play. Adil Baştugay was astounded when the referee showed him the red card after a seemingly innocent challenge, 48 minutes into the match. Ahmet Boran Mirza didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for JuSi Malacky. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.
