The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After the first half Defensores de Mar de Ajó were leading 0-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The wind increased when Gláuber Cardozo made the kick off in the second half. The audience thought a goal was coming when Zacarias Ignado got free with Flávio de Queiroz in the 53rd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Cesar Henry was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Zacarias Ignado sent away a hard shot on goal in the 85th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Flávio de Queiroz was out of position in the 88 minute of play, and Julio Peru capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Julio Peru really showed his touch with that goal: 2-3. A collision led to REAL VASCO RIO getting a freekick after 96 minutes play. Josué da Cunha hit a great ball. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. Defensores de Mar de Ajó walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
