Spectators: 7538 (Terracing: 5655, Seating: 1733, VIP seats: 150) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Ricardinho Catarinense started the match with the kick off. Hubert Donnet made a fantastic save in the 4th minute, when Ricardinho Catarinense sent off a good shot on target. After 5 played minutes corsaire nantais got a freekick which was hit by Simon Goncalves. Thanks to some nice moves Ricardinho Catarinense could shoot a difficult shot in the 10th minute, which Hubert Donnet however easily saved by the left post. The audience thought a goal was coming when Cássio Aparecido got free with Hubert Donnet in the 18th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Hubert Donnet showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Guga Goiano, who was totally free with the ball in the 26th minute. In the 27th minute, Moussa Citerne hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 28th minute, Guga Goiano sent off a long shot on goal, but the shot was nowhere near the goal and corsaire nantais's Hubert Donnet didn't even have to move. Hubert Donnet showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Guga Goiano in the 30th minute of the match. Cássio Aparecido received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 35th minute. Hubert Donnet tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 37 minutes into the game, S.C. Corinthians Paulista's Ricardinho Catarinense nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Hubert Donnet made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-0. In the 47th minute Guga Goiano shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Hubert Donnet saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Bacary Pincon to make the kick off. The referee felt a red card was in order, 55 minutes into the game, when Christian Rouet put in a rough tackle. A collision led to corsaire nantais getting a freekick after 56 minutes play. Christian Rouet hit a great ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Guga Goiano in the 57th minute of play forced corsaire nantais's goalkeeper Hubert Donnet to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Darren Le Clainche during the 59th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. The referee felt a red card was in order, 62 minutes into the game, when Amadeu Porto put in a rough tackle. Amadeu Porto kicked well hit freekick during the 62nd minute of the match. In the 63rd minute, Simon Goncalves hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. corsaire nantais's Hubert Donnet played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Guga Goiano in the 65th minute of play. In the 68th minute, Moussa Citerne hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After a defensive mix-up in corsaire nantais's zone, Guga Goiano stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Hubert Donnet came out of the goal and Guga Goiano tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The supporters of S.C. Corinthians Paulista booed when corsaire nantais was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 75 match minutes in a wonderful position. Charles-Emmanuel Perrotte didn't get a good kick on the ball. Diego da Cunha fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 76th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Hubert Donnet having to interfere. In the 80th minute, Ricardinho Catarinense hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Cássio Aparecido recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 88th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 90th minute, Guga Goiano got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. 95 minutes into the game, Charles-Emmanuel Perrotte was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. corsaire nantais's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave S.C. Corinthians Paulista the free kick. In the 95th match minute, corsaire nantais was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Charles-Emmanuel Perrotte to maneuver through the defense. Guga Goiano struck a weak shot in the 96th minute. Hubert Donnet didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for S.C. Corinthians Paulista. There were very few away supporters still in the ground by the end of the match. Most of them had left early, disgusted by the way their team had been torn apart. S.C. Corinthians Paulista fully deserved thier win.
