Dalmo Barreto made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-2. After some careless play in the Treze Futebol Clube CIMZ defense, Xamín Angeloni kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Dalmo Barreto. The Treze Futebol Clube CIMZ fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Dalmo Barreto should have stopped the shot. The supporters of TurboUC booed when Treze Futebol Clube CIMZ was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 17 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ulysses Gerber didn't get a good kick on the ball. 21 minutes into the match, Treze Futebol Clube CIMZ's goal looked a bit too open when Xamín Angeloni came free, but Dalmo Barreto reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. If Xamín Angeloni had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 38th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 45 minutes into the game, Duarte Furlan was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Treze Futebol Clube CIMZ's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave TurboUC the free kick. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 1-3 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Dênis Quadros stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Xamín Angeloni received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 73rd minute. Dalmo Barreto tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Dênis Quadros hit a great freekick 74 minutes into the match. In the 75th match minute, TurboUC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Xamín Angeloni to maneuver through the defense. Cássio Galvão charged in rather forcefully in the 82nd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Cássio Galvão the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. A collision led to Treze Futebol Clube CIMZ getting a freekick after 82 minutes play. Cássio Galvão hit a great ball. Dalmo Barreto showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Edgar Villamayor, who was totally free with the ball in the 84th minute. Claudinho Chaves's late challenge caught a TurboUC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Claudinho Chaves helped the player get up and apologised. After a rather tough play, Treze Futebol Clube CIMZ's Claudinho Chaves got a free kick in the 85th minute. Diego Armando Larrea received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Dalmo Barreto came out and tried to block the shot, but Diego Armando Larrea slotted it home off the left post making it 1-4 in the 88th minute. After 94 played minutes TurboUC got a freekick which was hit by Arnaldo Pimentel. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched TurboUC eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
