The Club de la Serpiente fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-1. If Emilio Leheren had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 23rd minute. Guido Folgoso showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Cristo Cordeal in the 27th minute of the match. 30 minutes into the game, Club de la Serpiente's Cristo Cordeal nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Guido Folgoso made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-2. In the 35th match minute, ◄◄Lucas Cerro Largo►► was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Faro Querijazu to maneuver through the defense. Rafael Cordero struck a weak shot in the 36th minute. Guido Folgoso didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Club de la Serpiente. Ruperto Madaleno's late challenge caught a ◄◄Lucas Cerro Largo►►'s player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Santo Cayo acted impressively in front of the goal and made a superb save when he, in the 46th minute, took the ball on the long shot from Ariando Belda. After the first half Club de la Serpiente were leading 1-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The audience thought a goal was coming when Ruperto Madaleno got free with Guido Folgoso in the 52nd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Guido Folgoso was a little too slow when Freddy Franco got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 56th minute. The score was now 1-3.
