Spectators: 7520 (Terracing: 5641, Seating: 1729, VIP seats: 150) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Freddy Franco started the match with the kick off. Santo Cayo made an important save on a dangerous shot by John Cadenas in the 2nd minute. After 5 played minutes Atlético Arenillas got a freekick which was hit by Ricardo Miña. Cristo Cordeal fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 9th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Asencio Ecija having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by John Cadenas in the 16th minute of play forced Club de la Serpiente's goalkeeper Santo Cayo to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. If Freddy Franco had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 17th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Freddy Franco in the 21st minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Asencio Ecija prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In the 23rd minute, Abelardo Lizbeth hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Santo Cayo made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from John Cadenas in the 24th minute of play. Amancio Radowitzky hit a great freekick 25 minutes into the match. In the 34th minute the ball was on its way in behind Club de la Serpiente's goalkeeper Santo Cayo, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. When the match had gone on for 35 minutes, John Cadenas took a quick shot and it went in 1-0 without a chance for Santo Cayo to make any attempt to save it. When Asensio Cueto came up free with the goalie in the 43rd minute, the Atlético Arenillas fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Asensio Cueto couldn't finish the play. Valentine Yepes sent away a hard shot on goal in the 44th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 1-0.

Atlético Arenillas's Asensio Cueto got a good chance for a goal in the 51st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Valentine Yepes's late challenge caught a Club de la Serpiente's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Valentine Yepes helped the player get up and apologised. In the 54th match minute, Atlético Arenillas was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Valentine Yepes to maneuver through the defense. After a rather tough play, Atlético Arenillas's Asensio Cueto got a free kick in the 57th minute. 61 minutes into the match, Freddy Franco notched a goal, 1-1, to the right of Atlético Arenillas's Asencio Ecija. Asencio Ecija was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. 65 minutes into the match, Club de la Serpiente's goal looked a bit too open when John Cadenas came free, but Santo Cayo reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 67th minute, Ruperto Madaleno ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Asencio Ecija was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-2. After 72 played minutes Atlético Arenillas got a freekick which was hit by Abel Victoria. Freddy Franco sent away a hard shot on goal in the 74th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. After some fancy dribbling in the 76th minute, Asensio Cueto managed to get in a good position for a shot. Atlético Arenillas's supporters rose to their feet, but Asensio Cueto was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Santo Cayo breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Santo Cayo made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from John Cadenas in the 82nd minute of play. Cristo Cordeal hit a great freekick 83 minutes into the match. In the 86th minute, John Cadenas got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. 92 minutes into the match, Club de la Serpiente's goal looked a bit too open when Valentine Yepes came free, but Santo Cayo reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line.
