After 11 played minutes LVCVS AVGVSTI got a freekick which was hit by Mario Molina. Hartmut Wannemacher could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 12th minute of the match, but Unai Simon made a huge save. Unai Simon was out of position in the 16 minute of play, and Daniel Trattnig capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Daniel Trattnig really showed his touch with that goal: 1-0. 22 minutes into the match, Mikel Oyarzabal had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Klaus-Dieter Beimel. FV Wienerwald's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Mikel Oyarzabal was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-1. After a rather tough play, FV Wienerwald's Patrik Kölblinger got a free kick in the 40th minute. Unai Simon showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Daniel Trattnig, who was totally free with the ball in the 44th minute. After 45 played minutes FV Wienerwald got a freekick which was hit by Felix Eberl. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 1-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Mikel Oyarzabal was the one to do the kick off. Hartmut Wannemacher's late challenge caught a LVCVS AVGVSTI's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Hartmut Wannemacher helped the player get up and apologised. The supporters of LVCVS AVGVSTI booed when FV Wienerwald was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 50 match minutes in a wonderful position. LVCVS AVGVSTI's Unai Simon played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Harald Delb in the 91st minute of play. Mario Molina hit a great freekick 93 minutes into the match. When Harald Delb came up free with the goalie in the 94th minute, the FV Wienerwald fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Harald Delb couldn't finish the play. The FV Wienerwald fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. LVCVS AVGVSTI were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
