Mariano Gorosti started the match with the kick off. After a rather tough play, AFC CERBEROS's Cornelio Valerio got a free kick in the 5th minute. Teobaldo Casomiro charged in rather forcefully in the 9th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The supporters of Independiente booed when AFC CERBEROS was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 15 match minutes in a wonderful position. Cornelio Valerio didn't get a good kick on the ball. Nestor Erdiano was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 15th played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. The supporters of AFC CERBEROS booed when Independiente was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 26 match minutes in a wonderful position. Maximiliano Gipuzkoa didn't get a good kick on the ball. 28 minutes into the match, Mariano Gorosti had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Abel Tabb. In the 33rd minute Martin Normando shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Abel Tabb saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Carmelo Beltxe's late challenge caught a Independiente's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Carmelo Beltxe helped the player get up and apologised. In the 39th minute the ball was on its way in behind Independiente's goalkeeper Jaime Havier, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Amador Gustau kicked well hit freekick during the 41st minute of the match. After a defensive mix-up in Independiente's zone, Freddy Jerrold stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Jaime Havier came out of the goal and Freddy Jerrold tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-1 lead.

In the 54th minute, Independiente's Nestor Erdiano ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Abel Tabb. Abel Tabb yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 0-2. In the 57th play minute Nestor Erdiano came free and shot an unsuspected shot which went into goal from the right pole behind a surprised Abel Tabb. 0-3. In the 61st minute, Maximiliano Gipuzkoa hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Jaime Havier showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Cornelio Valerio in the 61st minute of the match. The supporters of Independiente booed when AFC CERBEROS was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 66 match minutes in a wonderful position. Cornelio Valerio didn't get a good kick on the ball. AFC CERBEROS's Abel Tabb played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Amado Pacorro in the 70th minute of play. After 71 played minutes Independiente got a freekick which was hit by Maximiliano Gipuzkoa. After having played for 80 minutes, Freddy Jerrold managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. AFC CERBEROS's supporters crossed their fingers, but Freddy Jerrold was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. AFC CERBEROS's Abel Tabb played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Nestor Erdiano in the 88th minute of play. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched Independiente eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
