Spectators: 7745 (Terracing: 5810, Seating: 1781, VIP seats: 154) Independiente's Mariano Gorosti started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Jaime Havier made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Wladyslaw Kaczucha in the 3rd minute of play. The audience was convinced that Wladyslaw Kaczucha's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Jaime Havier was relentless in the 4th minute of the game. José Luis Chilavert showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Nestor Erdiano, who was totally free with the ball in the 5th minute. 9 minutes into the match, FC WAWER's goalkeeper José Luis Chilavert had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Guaberto Chorche. Wladyslaw Kaczucha kicked well hit freekick during the 10th minute of the match. The supporters of FC WAWER booed when Independiente was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 12 match minutes in a wonderful position. Martin Normando didn't get a good kick on the ball. After a rather tough play, Independiente's Amado Pacorro got a free kick in the 20th minute. After 21 played minutes, FC WAWER's Wincenty Tyszka shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Jaime Havier came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in FC WAWER reached it. After 22 played minutes Independiente got a freekick which was hit by Mariano Gorosti. After 23 minutes of play, FC WAWER's Wladyslaw Kaczucha made it 1-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Jaime Havier was left in no man's land by his defense there! FC WAWER's José Luis Chilavert played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Martin Normando in the 26th minute of play. The FC WAWER fans' excitement grew in the 28th match minute when FC WAWER's Bogumil Balonek looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 1-2 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. An unexpectedly hard shot by Bogumil Balonek in the 31st minute of play forced Independiente's goalkeeper Jaime Havier to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 34th minute, Guaberto Chorche left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Independiente fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 2-2. José Luis Chilavert was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Nestor Erdiano showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 3-2 in the 41 minute of play. Wladyslaw Kaczucha sent away a hard shot on goal in the 44th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. José Luis Chilavert showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Mariano Gorosti, who was totally free with the ball in the 45th minute. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 3-2.

The wind increased when Wladyslaw Kaczucha made the kick off in the second half. After some fancy dribbling in the 51st minute, Wladyslaw Kaczucha managed to get in a good position for a shot. FC WAWER's supporters rose to their feet, but Wladyslaw Kaczucha was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Jaime Havier breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Mariano Gorosti scored 4-2 in the 54th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of José Luis Chilavert, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Amado Pacorro's late challenge caught a FC WAWER's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Amado Pacorro helped the player get up and apologised. A collision led to Independiente getting a freekick after 62 minutes play. Amado Pacorro hit a great ball. FC WAWER's Waclaw Drozdowski was substituted for Wladyslaw Rostow. In the 63rd minute, Amado Pacorro hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 69 minutes into the match, Independiente's goal looked a bit too open when Wladyslaw Kaczucha came free, but Jaime Havier reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Bogumil Balonek kicked well hit freekick during the 76th minute of the match. When Nestor Erdiano fell near the penalty area in the 77th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Independiente's protests and gave Nestor Erdiano a yellow card for diving instead. Nestor Erdiano hit a great freekick 77 minutes into the match. FC WAWER's Iwo Rybak got a good chance for a goal in the 80th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. 88 minutes into the match, Independiente's goalkeeper Jaime Havier had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Wladyslaw Kaczucha. The audience thought a goal was coming when Bogumil Balonek got free with Jaime Havier in the 93rd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Independiente's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
