The coaching staff of MCB Timisoara 1921 BTV protested bitterly, but the referee would have none of it, and Irinel Birișu had no choice but to slowly walk off the pitch. 22 minutes into the game, one of MCB Timisoara 1921 BTV:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. He stayed cool and waited for the goalkeeper to move, before he confidently shot the ball into the goal, to the left of Nichifor Badea. The audience was convinced that Mariano Gorosti's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Nichifor Badea was relentless in the 76th minute of the game. In the 78th minute, Amado Pacorro hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 82nd minute Nichifor Cumpan shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jaime Havier saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Nichifor Badea showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Nichifor Badea made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Nestor Erdiano in the 90th minute of play. Remus Hurgoi hit a great freekick 91 minutes into the match. Nichifor Cumpan sent away a hard shot on goal in the 93rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When Basarab Mavrogheni fell near the penalty area in the 95th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored MCB Timisoara 1921 BTV's protests and gave Basarab Mavrogheni a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of Independiente booed when MCB Timisoara 1921 BTV was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 95 match minutes in a wonderful position. Basarab Mavrogheni didn't get a good kick on the ball. Nestor Erdiano got in the 95th minute the ball and tried a long shot which scored to the left of Nichifor Badea and thus it was 0-5. In the 100th minute, Guaberto Chorche got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched Independiente eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
