With 5 minutes on the clock, Fernandão Seco commited a dangerous tackle. The referee had no choice but to show him the red card. After some fancy dribbling in the 6th minute, Bernardo Libertad managed to get in a good position for a shot. RED DEVIL's supporters rose to their feet, but Bernardo Libertad was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Antônio Carlos Leme breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The supporters of Sangue nos Zóio booed when RED DEVIL was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 8 match minutes in a wonderful position. Agustin Misael didn't get a good kick on the ball. With a little luck, RED DEVIL's Horacio Mannie got control of the ball when Igor Rocha tried to sneak it across the goal line. Sangue nos Zóio's Antônio Carlos Leme played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Tadeo Emenon in the 13th minute of play. RED DEVIL were awarded a corner in the 19th minute after Sangue nos Zóio's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Bernardo Libertad took the corner. A nice corner shot did that Bernardo Libertad got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Antônio Carlos Leme quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. 24 minutes into the game, RED DEVIL's Tadeo Emenon nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Antônio Carlos Leme made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-1. Agustin Misael's late challenge caught a Sangue nos Zóio's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Agustin Misael helped the player get up and apologised. In the 38th minute, Agustin Misael hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 40 minutes into the game, Edgar Freire was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Sangue nos Zóio's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave RED DEVIL the free kick. 46 minutes into the game, Nelsinho do Vale recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Horacio Mannie. Nelsinho do Vale showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 1-1. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Tadeo Emenon stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Antônio Carlos Leme took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Esteve Urbez, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Agustin Misael hit a great freekick 63 minutes into the match. Igor Rocha kicked well hit freekick during the 64th minute of the match. Sangue nos Zóio made a substitution. Emílio Andrade replaced Igor Rocha. RED DEVIL's Horacio Mannie played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Nelsinho do Vale in the 77th minute of play. With a little luck, Sangue nos Zóio's Antônio Carlos Leme got control of the ball when Eulalio Rafe tried to sneak it across the goal line. Esteve Urbez received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Antônio Carlos Leme came out and tried to block the shot, but Esteve Urbez slotted it home off the left post making it 1-4 in the 84th minute. In the 89th minute Telmo Zanette shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Horacio Mannie saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If Telmo Zanette had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 91st minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. 92 minutes into the match, RED DEVIL's goal looked a bit too open when Emílio Andrade came free, but Horacio Mannie reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 93 minutes into the game, Emílio Andrade cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 2-4. Horacio Mannie was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. The RED DEVIL players were relieved to hear the final whistle blow to end the match. The away crowd was happy to see their team win after a very tight game.
