After 2 played minutes Goblins F.C. got a freekick which was hit by Abelardo Pitta. The nice shot from Vivaldo Munhoz in the 5thth minute just in front of the goal should have ended in point on the board, but Dan Elwick had a great feel for the game and superbly saved the ball from getting in by the left post. In the 6th minute Goblins F.C. were awarded a corner. Waldemar Ramos went to the cornerflag to take it. Arnaldo de Carvalho came out of the goal in the 7th minute to try and stop a shot by Coventry Wasps's Lucas Bridgewater. But to his dismay, Lucas Bridgewater quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. Arnaldo de Carvalho showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ronnie Blakeley, who was totally free with the ball in the 10th minute. In the 18th minute Lucas Bridgewater shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Arnaldo de Carvalho saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The supporters of Goblins F.C. booed when Coventry Wasps was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 19 match minutes in a wonderful position. Rick Arrowsmith didn't get a good kick on the ball. Dan Elwick showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Vivaldo Munhoz in the 20th minute of the match. After 22 played minutes Goblins F.C. got a freekick which was hit by Abelardo Pitta. In the 25th minute of the match Waldemar Ramos shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Dan Elwick showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Vivaldo Munhoz sent away a hard shot on goal in the 30th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Marquinhos de Andrade hit a great freekick 31 minutes into the match. With an all-out effort, Goblins F.C.'s Dan Elwick threw himself towards the right post 33 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Vivaldo Munhoz, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ronnie Blakeley in the 41st minute of play forced Goblins F.C.'s goalkeeper Arnaldo de Carvalho to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Lucas Bridgewater's late challenge caught a Goblins F.C.'s player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Lucas Bridgewater helped the player get up and apologised. In the 43rd minute, Lucas Bridgewater hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 44th minute of the match Marquinhos de Andrade shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Dan Elwick showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. After a rather tough play, Goblins F.C.'s Abelardo Pitta got a free kick in the 46th minute. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-2 lead.

Coventry Wasps made a substitution. Justin Shuttleworth replaced Lucas Bridgewater. Donny Paget kicked well hit freekick during the 52nd minute of the match. Vivaldo Munhoz recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 53rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Arnaldo de Carvalho was a little too slow when Justin Shuttleworth got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 58th minute. The score was now 0-3. Archie Robinson kicked well hit freekick during the 60th minute of the match. In the 61st minute, Vivaldo Munhoz ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Dan Elwick was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-3. 64 minutes into the match, Goblins F.C.'s goal looked a bit too open when Ben Moxon came free, but Arnaldo de Carvalho reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Justin Shuttleworth came free with the goalkeeper in the 73rd minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Arnaldo de Carvalho could save by the left post. In the 74th match minute, Goblins F.C. was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Waldemar Ramos to maneuver through the defense. When the match had gone on for 76 minutes, Greg Corcoran took a quick shot and it went in 1-4 without a chance for Arnaldo de Carvalho to make any attempt to save it. Justin Shuttleworth charged in rather forcefully in the 82nd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. In the 87th minute, Waldemar Ramos got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. When the match had gone on for 89 minutes, Vivaldo Munhoz put it in 2-4 from a short distance just to the right of Dan Elwick. An unexpectedly hard shot by Greg Corcoran in the 92nd minute of play forced Goblins F.C.'s goalkeeper Arnaldo de Carvalho to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Agostinho Borges in the 96th minute of play forced Coventry Wasps's goalkeeper Dan Elwick to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Coventry Wasps's Dan Elwick played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Zé Pedro Mendes in the 97th minute of play.
