After 16 minutes of play, Mestre GG's Gerson Ramos made it 0-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 1-3 lead.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Enio Fonseca stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. After 55 played minutes Mestre GG got a freekick which was hit by Reynaldo Baiano. Márcio Domingues's late challenge caught a Mestre GG's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card.
