In the 3rd minute, Luis Molina got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Wasyl Scislowicz in the 8th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Xabel Beloki saved ClUb DePoRtIvO LUGO from getting behind. When Fábio Cartagena fell near the penalty area in the 9th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored ClUb DePoRtIvO LUGO's protests and gave Fábio Cartagena a yellow card for diving instead. Fábio Cartagena hit a great freekick 9 minutes into the match. After recieving a nice pass, Skarpa Ełk's Wladyslaw Borczak tried to score from far away in the 10th minute, but the ball went over the crossbar. Boguslaw Falk didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Luis Molina went, in the 13th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-0 was the resulting score. Saturnin Alabern kicked well hit freekick during the 16th minute of the match. Xabel Beloki made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Aleksander Limanowski in the 19th minute of play. 21 minutes into the match, ClUb DePoRtIvO LUGO's goal looked a bit too open when Aleksander Limanowski came free, but Xabel Beloki reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 23 minutes into the game, Aleksander Limanowski cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-1. Xabel Beloki was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Xabel Beloki made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Wasyl Scislowicz in the 29th minute of play. After a rather tough play, Skarpa Ełk's Marek Petka got a free kick in the 33rd minute. Boguslaw Falk was a little too slow when Estefan Hernandez got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 34th minute. The score was now 2-1. Boguslaw Falk made a fantastic save in the 39th minute, when Mané Aguado sent off a good shot on target. Saturnin Alabern charged in rather forcefully in the 44th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Saturnin Alabern the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 44th match minute, ClUb DePoRtIvO LUGO was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Saturnin Alabern to maneuver through the defense. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 2-1.
The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Wasyl Scislowicz to strike the kick off in the second half. In the 57th minute Marek Petka shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Xabel Beloki saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Carles Astudillo kicked well hit freekick during the 58th minute of the match. The referee felt a red card was in order, 60 minutes into the game, when Saturnin Alabern put in a rough tackle. After 60 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for ClUb DePoRtIvO LUGO! When the match had been going on for 62 minutes, Skarpa Ełk's Wladyslaw Borczak got an opportunity to shoot a penalty. He stayed cool and waited for the goalkeeper to move, before he confidently shot the ball into the goal, to the left of Xabel Beloki. Korneliusz Narbut received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 65th minute. Xabel Beloki tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 68 minutes into the match, ClUb DePoRtIvO LUGO's goal looked a bit too open when Aleksander Limanowski came free, but Xabel Beloki reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 69 minutes into the match, Korneliusz Penc dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Xabel Beloki, 2-4. The audience thought a goal was coming when Wasyl Scislowicz got free with Xabel Beloki in the 76th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Xabel Beloki was out of position in the 77 minute of play, and Aleksander Limanowski capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Aleksander Limanowski really showed his touch with that goal: 2-5. A collision led to Skarpa Ełk getting a freekick after 82 minutes play. Wasyl Scislowicz hit a great ball. Estefan Hernandez sent away a hard shot on goal in the 87th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 92nd minute Mané Aguado shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Boguslaw Falk saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. A hard shot 94 in the game by Wasyl Scislowicz from a close distance when the talented Xabel Beloki managed to make a qualified save. ClUb DePoRtIvO LUGO's players were relieved. Estefan Hernandez scored 3-5 in the 95th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Boguslaw Falk, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. The Skarpa Ełk supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Skarpa Ełk would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
