Spectators: 7781 (Terracing: 5836, Seating: 1790, VIP seats: 155) The sun was shining, the grass was green and the audience cheered when Kaarle Väätäinen got the match started through his kick off. In the 6th minute Åke Bivall shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Niilo Vähäsavo saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After a defensive mix-up in Savon Palloseura's zone, Åke Bivall stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Niilo Vähäsavo came out of the goal and Åke Bivall tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Savon Palloseura's Niilo Vähäsavo played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Jakob Hellqvist in the 14th minute of play. The supporters of Savon Palloseura booed when Sannegården BK was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 14 match minutes in a wonderful position. Thomas Pedersson didn't get a good kick on the ball. Niilo Vähäsavo showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Valdemar Sjögren, who was totally free with the ball in the 16th minute. A collision led to Savon Palloseura getting a freekick after 17 minutes play. Jan Kuokkanen hit a great ball. Åke Bivall hit a great freekick 21 minutes into the match. In the 27th match minute, Savon Palloseura was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Juha-Pekka Joenväärä to maneuver through the defense. After a rather tough play, Sannegården BK's Thomas Pedersson got a free kick in the 30th minute. Sannegården BK's Dennis Säfström proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 31st minute of the match, managed to save Sannegården BK from getting a goal against them. Savon Palloseura's Niilo Vähäsavo played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Åke Bivall in the 41st minute of play. After 43 minutes, Risto Mäkinen mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Savon Palloseura and the Sannegården BK players grew even worse after the yellow card. When Åke Bivall came up free with the goalie in the 44th minute, the Sannegården BK fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Åke Bivall couldn't finish the play. Disappointed in the 0-1 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Åke Bivall to strike the kick off in the second half. Juha-Pekka Joenväärä's late challenge caught a Sannegården BK's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Juha-Pekka Joenväärä helped the player get up and apologised. In the 55th match minute, Savon Palloseura was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Juha-Pekka Joenväärä to maneuver through the defense. After 56 played minutes Sannegården BK got a freekick which was hit by Sebastian Larsfelt. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Åke Bivall during the 61st minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Niilo Vähäsavo made a fantastic save in the 65th minute, when Jakob Hellqvist sent off a good shot on target. After 67 minutes of play, Sannegården BK's Åke Bivall made it 0-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Niilo Vähäsavo was left in no man's land by his defense there! 72 minutes into the game, Sannegården BK's Jakob Hellqvist nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Niilo Vähäsavo made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-3. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Jakob Hellqvist in the 75th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Niilo Vähäsavo saved Savon Palloseura from getting behind. Jakob Hellqvist blasted a shot towards the goal in the 76th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Niilo Vähäsavo having to make a save. The crowd rose to their feet as Åke Bivall kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Niilo Vähäsavo. That made the score 0-4 in the 78 minute of play. Heikki Niinimaa kicked well hit freekick during the 82nd minute of the match. Savon Palloseura's Niilo Vähäsavo proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 85th minute of the match, managed to save Savon Palloseura from getting a goal against them. Thomas Pedersson sent away a hard shot on goal in the 88th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Thomas Pedersson struck a weak shot in the 89th minute. Niilo Vähäsavo didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Sannegården BK. After having played for 92 minutes, Åke Bivall managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Sannegården BK's supporters crossed their fingers, but Åke Bivall was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Åke Bivalls short, quick shot in the 96thth minute got Niilo Vähäsavo to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. The audience was convinced that Jakob Hellqvist's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Niilo Vähäsavo was relentless in the 97th minute of the game. Sannegården BK's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
