Anselmo Tabb stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Kaarle Väätäinen's shot from short distance in the 14th minute. Toivo Karhu sent away a hard shot on goal in the 17th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. If Alvaro Asteri had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 25th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 29 played minutes Savon Palloseura got a freekick which was hit by Tauno Kivimäki. When Savon Palloseura's Kaarle Väätäinen in the 31st minute got a chance for a shot 31st didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Atletico Calamar Saavedra's goalie prevented a goal. After a rather tough play, Savon Palloseura's Tauno Kivimäki got a free kick in the 33rd minute. Kaarle Väätäinen sent away a hard shot on goal in the 35th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Silvio Miro struck a weak shot in the 41st minute. Niilo Vähäsavo didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Atletico Calamar Saavedra.

The wind increased when Ricardo Llorenc made the kick off in the second half. Savon Palloseura's Toivo Karhu got a good chance for a goal in the 55th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The audience thought a goal was coming when Toivo Karhu got free with Anselmo Tabb in the 62nd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Ricardo Llorenc fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 64th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Niilo Vähäsavo having to interfere. Toivo Karhu received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 68th minute. Anselmo Tabb tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After 71 played minutes Savon Palloseura got a freekick which was hit by Kaarle Väätäinen. Alvaro Asteri's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Niilo Vähäsavo read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 74th minute of play. Ricardo Llorenc recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 77th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ricardo Llorenc in the 79th minute of play forced Savon Palloseura's goalkeeper Niilo Vähäsavo to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Savon Palloseura's Toivo Karhu got a good chance for a goal in the 82nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Alvaro Asteri fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 87th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Niilo Vähäsavo having to interfere. In the 90th minute, Jan Kuokkanen hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Niilo Vähäsavo showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Silvio Miro in the 91st minute of the match. The Savon Palloseura supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Savon Palloseura would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
