Federico Melani sent away a hard shot on goal in the 34th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The supporters of União Verde FC booed when San Felice a Ema U.L. was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 37 match minutes in a wonderful position. Fulvio Giardini didn't get a good kick on the ball. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Adriano Sabatini showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Fulvio Eleuteri received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 47th minute. Bebeto de Salles tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

In the 72nd minute Gilvan Pombal shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Adriano Sabatini saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 73 minutes into the match, União Verde FC's goalkeeper Bebeto de Salles had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Angelo Toccaceli. Adriano Sabatini showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Laércio Damião, who was totally free with the ball in the 85th minute. Both teams had looked equal from kick-off, and no-one was surprised when the match finally ended in a draw.
