Spectators: 7720 (Terracing: 5791, Seating: 1775, VIP seats: 154) The field was rather wet after several days of rain when Edmund Schoettle took the kick off in the first half of the match. After 5 played minutes, União Verde FC's Valdomiro Paraibano shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Kristian Willem Neuling came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in União Verde FC reached it. Edmund Schoettle might have been able to make a better finish in the 10th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Bebeto de Salles. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Edmund Schoettle ran back to his position shaking his head. In the 24th minute, one of União Verde FC:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for União Verde FC. Edmund Schoettle fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 36th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Bebeto de Salles having to interfere. Edmund Schoettle's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Bebeto de Salles read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 39th minute of play. The score stood at 0-0 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

Tiger made a substitution. Bruno Mätz replaced Hartmut Weidenhammer. An unexpectedly hard shot by Fulko Schwaderer in the 56th minute of play forced União Verde FC's goalkeeper Bebeto de Salles to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Kristian Willem Neuling made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Jorge Mendonça in the 61st minute of play. Laércio Damião hit a great freekick 62 minutes into the match. Bebeto de Salles showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Edmund Schoettle, who was totally free with the ball in the 63rd minute. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Fulko Schwaderer in the 63rd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Bebeto de Salles saved União Verde FC from getting behind. Tiger's Ken Raus was substituted for Fulko Schwaderer. Bebeto de Salles took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ken Raus, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After 75 played minutes União Verde FC got a freekick which was hit by Ademir Guia. Bebeto de Salles made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ken Raus in the 77th minute of play. After a rather tough play, União Verde FC's Laércio Damião got a free kick in the 92nd minute. When Zinédine Stoletzky fell near the penalty area in the 98th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Tiger's protests and gave Zinédine Stoletzky a yellow card for diving instead. Zinédine Stoletzky hit a great freekick 98 minutes into the match. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Tiger fans cheered their team off the field, for while União Verde FC had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
