The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Renato Rivera came out of the goal in the 6th minute to try and stop a shot by Alexandria Team08's Bogdan Goma. But to his dismay, Bogdan Goma quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. A hard shot 20 in the game by Jacques Huerta from a close distance when the talented Traian Sucigan managed to make a qualified save. Alexandria Team08's players were relieved. In the 24th minute Eduard Vrejiu suffered a thigh injury and had to be helped off the field. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Amancio Orozco during the 24th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Alexandria Team08's Irinel Pască was substituted for Eduard Vrejiu. After 26 played minutes Club Getafe Deportivo got a freekick which was hit by Amancio Orozco. After a rather tough play, Alexandria Team08's Irinel Pască got a free kick in the 32nd minute. Jacques Huerta hit a great freekick 38 minutes into the match. A collision led to Club Getafe Deportivo getting a freekick after 39 minutes play. Oihan Benito hit a great ball. Alexandria Team08's Traian Sucigan proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 45th minute of the match, managed to save Alexandria Team08 from getting a goal against them. In the 47th minute Amancio Orozco shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Traian Sucigan saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Amancio Orozco stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Alexandria Team08's Traian Sucigan played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Amancio Orozco in the 56th minute of play. 61 minutes into the match, Alexandria Team08's goal looked a bit too open when Amancio Orozco came free, but Traian Sucigan reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. A collision led to Alexandria Team08 getting a freekick after 61 minutes play. Corneliu Macamete hit a great ball. Traian Sucigan showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Jacques Huerta, who was totally free with the ball in the 64th minute. In the 69th minute Jacques Huerta shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Traian Sucigan saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When Amancio Orozco was, once again, overly rough in his play he received his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. 72 minutes had been played. In the 73rd minute, Amancio Orozco hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 77th minute, Aurel Răducu reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Renato Rivera. The goal made the score 1-2. After 81 minutes, Irinel Pască mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Alexandria Team08 and the Club Getafe Deportivo players grew even worse after the yellow card. In a very dangerous position, a player in Alexandria Team08 fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 80th minute. Penalty! The audience thought a goal was coming when Valentin Smarandache got free with Renato Rivera in the 91st minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. An unexpectedly hard shot by Aurel Răducu in the 92nd minute of play forced Club Getafe Deportivo's goalkeeper Renato Rivera to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Traian Sucigan showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Jacques Huerta in the 94th minute of the match. The teams fought very hard right up to the final whistle. Both sets of players were happy to go away with a draw.
