Samuel Farias came out of the goal and Lucrețiu Culiță tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Club Deportivo Álvarez's Samuel Farias played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Marin Zbuchea in the 38th minute of play. After a rather tough play, F.C. YKE's Nicolae Boboc got a free kick in the 41st minute. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Bonifacio Pinto to make the kick off. With a little luck, Club Deportivo Álvarez's Samuel Farias got control of the ball when Lucrețiu Culiță tried to sneak it across the goal line. Ike Schmeichel showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Paulo Maiorga, who was totally free with the ball in the 96th minute. Club Deportivo Álvarez were really happy, having secured the victory after a very even contest. They thanked the players of F.C. YKE for a fine match.
