A murmur of surprise went through the audience when Gaviotas FC's Casimiro Lopez after having done a couple of nice dribblings in the 15th minute of the game fired away a shot to his disappointment passed just outside the right post. Baldomiro Oliverios's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 24thth minute, Emilio Lonzo skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Ildefonso Ortle during the 27th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. The supporters of Alejandra booed when Gaviotas FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 27 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ildefonso Ortle didn't get a good kick on the ball. When German Fernendo came up free with the goalie in the 28th minute, the Alejandra fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that German Fernendo couldn't finish the play. When the match clock showed 34 minutes, the score became 0-1 when Gogo Bixintxo sped through Gaviotas FC's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Gavino Luke. After having played for 38 minutes, German Fernendo managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Alejandra's supporters crossed their fingers, but German Fernendo was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Gavino Luke took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Gogo Bixintxo, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. When Sebastian Gimenez fell near the penalty area in the 40th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Gaviotas FC's protests and gave Sebastian Gimenez a yellow card for diving instead. After a rather tough play, Gaviotas FC's Sebastian Gimenez got a free kick in the 40th minute. After the first half Alejandra were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Gogo Bixintxo was the one to do the kick off. After 59 minutes, Casimiro Lopez mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Gaviotas FC and the Alejandra players grew even worse after the yellow card.
