Spectators: 7727 (Terracing: 5796, Seating: 1777, VIP seats: 154) The sun was shining, the grass was green and the audience cheered when Jorge Martxot got the match started through his kick off. Academia FC's Angel Etxeberri proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 4th minute of the match, managed to save Academia FC from getting a goal against them. Angel Etxeberri made a fantastic save in the 4th minute, when Egídio Trindade sent off a good shot on target. After 5 played minutes Sporting Clube Patrício got a freekick which was hit by Teófilo Melo. Jorge Martxot's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Viriato Leal read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 10th minute of play. Horácio Chagas hit a great freekick 12 minutes into the match. The audience thought a goal was coming when Alexandrino Quintas got free with Angel Etxeberri in the 16th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Marcelino Batista fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 17th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Viriato Leal having to interfere. When Academia FC's Anibal Ugutz in the 23rd minute got a chance for a shot 23rd didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Sporting Clube Patrício's goalie prevented a goal. Constantino Rodriguez hit a great freekick 30 minutes into the match. After 30 played minutes Academia FC got a freekick which was hit by Delmiro Quico. The audience thought a goal was coming when Laurentino Teixeira got free with Angel Etxeberri in the 31st minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Marcelino Batista's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Viriato Leal read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 37th minute of play. Hermenegildo Ribeiro received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 40th minute. Angel Etxeberri tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Jorge Martxot sent away a hard shot on goal in the 42nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The supporters of Academia FC booed when Sporting Clube Patrício was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 47 match minutes in a wonderful position. Egídio Trindade didn't get a good kick on the ball. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-1 lead.

The wind increased when Egídio Trindade made the kick off in the second half. In the 52nd minute, Egídio Trindade ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Angel Etxeberri was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-1. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Jorge Martxot in the 57th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Viriato Leal prevented the ball from getting in the gole. After 61 minutes of play, Academia FC's Jorge Martxot made it 1-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Viriato Leal was left in no man's land by his defense there! Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Marcelino Batista in the 69th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Viriato Leal prevented the ball from getting in the gole. A hard shot 76 in the game by Jorge Martxot from a close distance when the talented Viriato Leal managed to make a qualified save. Sporting Clube Patrício's players were relieved. Angel Etxeberri showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Gustavo Ferrão in the 82nd minute of the match. A collision led to Sporting Clube Patrício getting a freekick after 82 minutes play. Hermenegildo Ribeiro hit a great ball. In the 85th minute Alexandrino Quintas shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Angel Etxeberri saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Alexandrino Quintas scored 2-2 in the 85th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Angel Etxeberri, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. When Egídio Trindade came up free with the goalie in the 90th minute, the Sporting Clube Patrício fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Egídio Trindade couldn't finish the play. If Marcelino Batista had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 92nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Silvério Amaro hit a great freekick 94 minutes into the match. Both teams had looked equal from kick-off, and no-one was surprised when the match finally ended in a draw.
