Spectators: 7713 (Terracing: 5786, Seating: 1774, VIP seats: 153) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Jorge Martxot started the match with the kick off. Marcelino Batista sent away a hard shot on goal in the 5th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. 17 minutes into the match, Jorge Martxot dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Gavino Luke, 1-0. Jorge Martxot might have been able to make a better finish in the 28th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Gavino Luke. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Jorge Martxot ran back to his position shaking his head. Fabricio Jakobe kicked well hit freekick during the 36th minute of the match. Fausto Argider recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 43rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 44thth minute of the game Jorge Martxot who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Gaviotas FC's Gavino Luke was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

Angel Etxeberri made a fantastic save in the 52nd minute, when Casimiro Lopez sent off a good shot on target. Baldomiro Oliverios could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 55th minute of the match, but Angel Etxeberri made a huge save. Gaviotas FC's Mariano Stephen was substituted for Isidro Vimaro. 63 minutes into the match, Jorge Martxot had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Gavino Luke. Gaviotas FC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Jorge Martxot was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-0. Gaviotas FC made a substitution. Anastasio Arce replaced Sebastian Gimenez. When Academia FC's Jorge Martxot in the 68th minute got a chance for a shot 68th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Gaviotas FC's goalie prevented a goal. Academia FC's Jorge Martxot got a good chance for a goal in the 78th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Delmiro Quico's late challenge caught a Gaviotas FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Delmiro Quico helped the player get up and apologised. A collision led to Academia FC getting a freekick after 84 minutes play. Delmiro Quico hit a great ball. In the 85th minute of the match Anastasio Arce shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Angel Etxeberri showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Anastasio Arce's late challenge caught a Academia FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Anastasio Arce helped the player get up and apologised. After a rather tough play, Gaviotas FC's Anastasio Arce got a free kick in the 88th minute. Gaviotas FC's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
