The supporters of Galati Harbour Cats booed when De Pelgrims was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 17 match minutes in a wonderful position. Jef Savenije didn't get a good kick on the ball. After having played for 28 minutes, Filip Mavrogheni managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Galati Harbour Cats's supporters crossed their fingers, but Filip Mavrogheni was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Elbert Plescher took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Filip Mavrogheni, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Jo Bag kicked well hit freekick during the 41st minute of the match. The supporters of De Pelgrims booed when Galati Harbour Cats was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 43 match minutes in a wonderful position. Calistrat Glăvan didn't get a good kick on the ball. After having played for 44 minutes, Ferdi van der Schaaf managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. De Pelgrims's supporters crossed their fingers, but Ferdi van der Schaaf was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Frits Beuneker fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 46th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Manole Ghiondea having to interfere. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 1-0.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Frits Beuneker to strike the kick off in the second half. In a very dangerous position, a player in Galati Harbour Cats fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 51st minute. Penalty! In the 53rd minute there was a penalty for De Pelgrims. Ferdi van der Schaaf stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Manole Ghiondea. 2-0. Manole Ghiondea showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Mickael Achterberg, who was totally free with the ball in the 57th minute. If Philip Tinge had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 60th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 63rd minute, Jeroen Reintjes left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The De Pelgrims fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 3-0. Adrian Baldazar kicked well hit freekick during the 73rd minute of the match. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Viorel Ponta during the 80th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Viorel Ponta hit a great freekick 80 minutes into the match. After a rather tough play, Galati Harbour Cats's Jo Bag got a free kick in the 97th minute.
