After 5 minutes, Viorel Ponta mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Galati Harbour Cats and the FC Wil 1900 players grew even worse after the yellow card. Viorel Ponta hit a great freekick 5 minutes into the match. Manole Ghiondea made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Frederic Kuster in the 11th minute of play. FC Wil 1900's Yanic Kulenovic proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 16th minute of the match, managed to save FC Wil 1900 from getting a goal against them. 16 minutes into the game, Filip Mavrogheni recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Yanic Kulenovic. Filip Mavrogheni showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 1-1. In the 20th minute, Jo Bag ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Yanic Kulenovic was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-1. The referee felt a red card was in order, 24 minutes into the game, when Alin Şoltuz put in a rough tackle. In the 24th minute, one of Galati Harbour Cats:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Galati Harbour Cats. Manole Ghiondea took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Vagner Penisson, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 37th minute Vagner Penisson shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Manole Ghiondea saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. A collision led to Galati Harbour Cats getting a freekick after 38 minutes play. Adrian Baldazar hit a great ball. Manole Ghiondea didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Frederic Kuster went, in the 43rd minute, to the upper right corner, 2-4 was the resulting score.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Jo Bag was the one to do the kick off. After having played for 55 minutes, Isidor Jutzi managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. FC Wil 1900's supporters crossed their fingers, but Isidor Jutzi was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Manole Ghiondea didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Frederic Kuster went, in the 61st minute, to the upper right corner, 2-5 was the resulting score. After a rather tough play, Galati Harbour Cats's Filip Mavrogheni got a free kick in the 64th minute. Galati Harbour Cats's Manole Ghiondea proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 75th minute of the match, managed to save Galati Harbour Cats from getting a goal against them. Fabian Minculescu hit a great freekick 79 minutes into the match. After 89 played minutes Vagner Penisson rounded Galati Harbour Cats's defense and shot a beautiful shot into goal via left pole - 2-7. With 96 minutes on the clock, Jarrett Beljean commited a dangerous tackle. The referee had no choice but to show him the red card. In the 96th minute, Jarrett Beljean hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. When the final whistle sounded FC Wil 1900 left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than Galati Harbour Cats.
