Spectators: 7723 (Terracing: 5793, Seating: 1776, VIP seats: 154) It was fairly windy and cold on the field when Niculae Perșa kicked off to start the match. De Pelgrims's Elbert Plescher played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Niculae Perșa in the 3rd minute of play. RED BLUE STAR's Niculae Perșa got a good chance for a goal in the 5th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Pompiliu Comarnescu was a little too slow when Huub Nagel got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 9th minute. The score was now 1-0. The supporters of RED BLUE STAR booed when De Pelgrims was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 14 match minutes in a wonderful position. Jef Savenije didn't get a good kick on the ball. Elbert Plescher made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Niculae Perșa in the 15th minute of play. After having played for 17 minutes, Frits Beuneker managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. De Pelgrims's supporters crossed their fingers, but Frits Beuneker was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Frits Beuneker hit a great freekick 20 minutes into the match. De Pelgrims's Huub Nagel pulled a muscle in his back after 21 minutes and couldn't finish the game. When Vintilă Ilie fell near the penalty area in the 21st minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored RED BLUE STAR's protests and gave Vintilă Ilie a yellow card for diving instead. De Pelgrims's Rien Drenth was substituted for Huub Nagel. In the 23rd match minute, RED BLUE STAR was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Vintilă Ilie to maneuver through the defense. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Niculae Perșa in the 27th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Elbert Plescher saved De Pelgrims from getting behind. In the 29th match minute, De Pelgrims was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Frits Beuneker to maneuver through the defense. In the 34th minute, Ferdi van der Schaaf hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Victor Răcănel sent away a hard shot on goal in the 36th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Philip Tinge recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 39th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Rien Drenth came free with the goalkeeper in the 42nd minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Pompiliu Comarnescu could save by the left post. The supporters of RED BLUE STAR booed when De Pelgrims was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 46 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ferdi van der Schaaf didn't get a good kick on the ball. RED BLUE STAR's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Vintilă Ilie in the 49th minute. The corner led RED BLUE STAR's Vintilă Ilie to fire away a dangerous shot which Elbert Plescher despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 1-0 at half-time.

Octav Ciocan kicked well hit freekick during the 52nd minute of the match. In the 58thth minute of the game Rien Drenth who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but RED BLUE STAR's Pompiliu Comarnescu was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. 61 minutes into the match, RED BLUE STAR's Fabian Şoimaru sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Elbert Plescher narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Marco Kiewiet hit a great freekick 64 minutes into the match. In the 69th minute, RED BLUE STAR's Octav Ciocan seemed to kick out at an opponent. The referee saw this and, surprisingly, showed Octav Ciocan the red card, dismissing him from the pitch. The coaching staff of RED BLUE STAR protested bitterly, but the referee would have none of it, and Octav Ciocan had no choice but to slowly walk off the pitch. In a very dangerous position, a player in RED BLUE STAR fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 68th minute. Penalty! In the 71st minute there was a penalty for De Pelgrims. Ferdi van der Schaaf stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Pompiliu Comarnescu. 2-0. Job van der Schans's late challenge caught a RED BLUE STAR's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Job van der Schans helped the player get up and apologised. When Grigore Buzgar came up free with the goalie in the 84th minute, the RED BLUE STAR fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Grigore Buzgar couldn't finish the play. In the 88thth minute of the game Victor Răcănel who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but De Pelgrims's Elbert Plescher was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. The supporters of RED BLUE STAR booed when De Pelgrims was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 91 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ferdi van der Schaaf didn't get a good kick on the ball. After 98 played minutes De Pelgrims got a freekick which was hit by Gerrit van Gaal.
