After a rather tough play, CA Trapito's Baldomiro Hunfredo got a free kick in the 7th minute. After 9 played minutes Templars FC got a freekick which was hit by Lawrence Gonzi. 14 minutes had been played when some careless play by Templars FC's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Jeronimo Montrelle was slow to take the kick. During this time CA Trapito's players had a chance to rest. After a rather tough play, Templars FC's Mark Cuschieri got a free kick in the 16th minute. The supporters of CA Trapito booed when Templars FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 23 match minutes in a wonderful position. Manwel Dimech didn't get a good kick on the ball. After having played for 28 minutes, Arturo Beturian managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. CA Trapito's supporters crossed their fingers, but Arturo Beturian was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Nick Grech made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Arturo Beturian in the 31st minute of play. In the 33rd minute, Jeronimo Montrelle hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Jonas Ganix showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Oliver Friggieri, who was totally free with the ball in the 34th minute. After 37 minutes of play, CA Trapito's Pedro Calvino made it 0-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Nick Grech was left in no man's land by his defense there! Dionisio Cidro hit a great freekick 41 minutes into the match. The crowd rose to their feet as Templars FC's Keith DeGaetano slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Jonas Ganix. That made the score 1-2 after 45 minutes of play. The Templars FC players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. CA Trapito were winning 1-2.
Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Arturo Beturian to make the kick off. Noel Trapani's late challenge caught a CA Trapito's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Noel Trapani helped the player get up and apologised. Luke Abdilla kicked well hit freekick during the 64th minute of the match. Templars FC's Carlo Pisani was substituted for Neil Debono. Keith DeGaetano's late challenge caught a CA Trapito's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Keith DeGaetano helped the player get up and apologised. After 68 played minutes Templars FC got a freekick which was hit by Keith DeGaetano. CA Trapito's Silverio Mirande was substituted for Dionisio Cidro. After some careless play in the CA Trapito defense, Keith DeGaetano kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Jonas Ganix. The CA Trapito fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Jonas Ganix should have stopped the shot. An unexpectedly hard shot by Baldomiro Hunfredo in the 80th minute of play forced Templars FC's goalkeeper Nick Grech to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 84th minute Lawrence Gonzi shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jonas Ganix saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Keith DeGaetano in the 87th minute of play forced CA Trapito's goalkeeper Jonas Ganix to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Jonas Ganix showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Manwel Dimech in the 88th minute of the match. CA Trapito's Jonas Ganix played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Oliver Friggieri in the 89th minute of play. After some fancy dribbling in the 93rd minute, Baldomiro Hunfredo managed to get in a good position for a shot. CA Trapito's supporters rose to their feet, but Baldomiro Hunfredo was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Nick Grech breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. When CA Trapito's Flavio Calvet in the 95th minute got a chance for a shot 95th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Templars FC's goalie prevented a goal. 97 minutes had been played when some careless play by Templars FC's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. CA Trapito's Jeronimo Montrelle was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Nick Grech in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. The Templars FC supporters were disappointed that their team didn't take anything from the match, despite matching CA Trapito's performance. The match ended with a win for CA Trapito.
