In the 13th match minute, Templars FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Carlo Pisani to maneuver through the defense. Nick Grech showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Ioan Blidaru in the 14th minute of the match. Lawrence Gonzi kicked well hit freekick during the 15th minute of the match. Carlo Monreal kicked well hit freekick during the 18th minute of the match. Templars FC's Nick Grech proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 19th minute of the match, managed to save Templars FC from getting a goal against them. In the 20th minute of the match Granicerul got a corner. Templars FC's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. An unexpectedly hard shot by Lawrence Gonzi in the 36th minute of play forced Granicerul's goalkeeper Narcis Coman to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 37 minutes had been played when some careless play by Granicerul's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Oliver Friggieri was slow to take the kick. During this time Templars FC's players had a chance to rest. The corner ended in Oliver Friggieri almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Granicerul's Narcis Coman did a great save. Răzvan Geolgău blasted a shot towards the goal in the 40th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Nick Grech having to make a save. Ioan Blidaru could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 45th minute of the match, but Nick Grech made a huge save. Nick Grech showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Dorinel Munteanu in the 47th minute of the match.

Templars FC's Nick Grech played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Dorinel Munteanu in the 56th minute of play. After a defensive mix-up in Templars FC's zone, Răzvan Geolgău stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Nick Grech came out of the goal and Răzvan Geolgău tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 64th minute, Ioan Blidaru ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Nick Grech was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-0. A collision led to Templars FC getting a freekick after 70 minutes play. Adam Aquilina hit a great ball. Templars FC made a substitution. The supporters of Templars FC booed when Granicerul was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 75 match minutes in a wonderful position. Didi Prodan didn't get a good kick on the ball. After a rather tough play, Templars FC's Oliver Friggieri got a free kick in the 77th minute. Narcis Coman made a fantastic save in the 86th minute, when Lawrence Gonzi sent off a good shot on target. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Granicerul fans cheered their team off the field, for while Templars FC had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
