Fergus Fairbairn showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Kalju Viru, who was totally free with the ball in the 6th minute. After 7 played minutes Nisu Unn got a freekick which was hit by Aivar Võsoberg. In the 18th minute, Danny Gilespie left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Rangers FC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-1. In the 28th play minute Arne Vooglaid came free and shot an unsuspected shot which went into goal from the right pole behind a surprised Fergus Fairbairn. 1-1. Kalju Viru's late challenge caught a Rangers FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Kalju Viru helped the player get up and apologised. After 31 played minutes Nisu Unn got a freekick which was hit by Kalju Viru. An unexpectedly hard shot by Kalju Viru in the 33rd minute of play forced Rangers FC's goalkeeper Fergus Fairbairn to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 35 minutes into the game, Peedu Roosileht was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Nisu Unn's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Rangers FC the free kick. After 35 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Nisu Unn! In the 40th minute, Taavi Kender hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 40th minute of the match Ron McLeish shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Imre Karikas showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. The Nisu Unn players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Rangers FC were winning 1-2.

A collision led to Rangers FC getting a freekick after 51 minutes play. Ron McLeish hit a great ball. 57 minutes into the match, Rangers FC's goal looked a bit too open when Kalju Viru came free, but Fergus Fairbairn reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Imre Karikas showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Danny Gilespie in the 68th minute of the match. After 71 minutes of play, Nisu Unn's Kalju Viru made it 2-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Fergus Fairbairn was left in no man's land by his defense there! Nisu Unn's Alvin Aal was substituted for Aadam Honga. Nisu Unn's Leo Kaber was substituted for Aivar Võsoberg. Imre Karikas showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Stevie McGilvray in the 81st minute of the match. Ron McLeish sent away a hard shot on goal in the 83rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After some fancy dribbling in the 89th minute, Leo Kaber managed to get in a good position for a shot. Nisu Unn's supporters rose to their feet, but Leo Kaber was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Fergus Fairbairn breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Artur Loos during the 96th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card.
