Spectators: 7706 (Terracing: 5781, Seating: 1772, VIP seats: 153) Anselmo Gabriele started the match with the kick off in front of an excited audience. Marin Mihăileanu kicked well hit freekick during the 3rd minute of the match. Alessandro Verdecchia made a fantastic save in the 5th minute, when Mugur Nisipeanu sent off a good shot on target. Eugenio Bozzo fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 6th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Costică Petran having to interfere. After 10 played minutes Santoryu FC got a freekick which was hit by Corrado Lepre. Alvise Iacobucci received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 13th minute. Costică Petran tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 17th minute Dario Giorgio shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Costică Petran saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The supporters of UFC STEAUA booed when Santoryu FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 20 match minutes in a wonderful position. Dario Giorgio didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 30thth minute of the game Anselmo Gabriele who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but UFC STEAUA's Costică Petran was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. When Santoryu FC's Anselmo Gabriele in the 31st minute got a chance for a shot 31st didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye UFC STEAUA's goalie prevented a goal. Costică Petran stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Anselmo Gabriele's shot from short distance in the 35th minute. When Nistor Fenici fell near the penalty area in the 39th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored UFC STEAUA's protests and gave Nistor Fenici a yellow card for diving instead. After 39 played minutes UFC STEAUA got a freekick which was hit by Nistor Fenici. Costică Petran took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Alberto De Rossi, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. A collision led to Santoryu FC getting a freekick after 45 minutes play. Alfredo Malvezzi hit a great ball. In the 46th match minute, Santoryu FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Corrado Lepre to maneuver through the defense. Marin Mihăileanu could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 47th minute of the match, but Alessandro Verdecchia made a huge save. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 0-0 after a close first half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Mugur Nisipeanu to make the kick off. Costică Petran made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Dario Giorgio in the 54th minute of play. Alessandro Verdecchia made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Nistor Fenici in the 57th minute of play. Alessandro Verdecchia showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Nistor Fenici in the 59th minute of the match. UFC STEAUA's Costică Petran played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Eugenio Bozzo in the 61st minute of play. Alessandro Verdecchia took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Nistor Fenici, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 74th minute, Dario Giorgio hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Through an outstanding action, after 87 minutes, Costică Petran successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. Dario Giorgio was really disappointed when he shot the ball just outside the right post instead of scoring a goal in the 90th minute. Santoryu FC's manager could be seen on the sidelines shaking his head and muttering to himself as his team had just wasted another chance. In the 93rd match minute, UFC STEAUA was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Filip Vulpăşin to maneuver through the defense. Alberto De Rossi recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 94th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Both teams had looked equal from kick-off, and no-one was surprised when the match finally ended in a draw.
