The Buenaventura FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Romel Torrijos should have stopped the shot. In the 9th match minute, Buenaventura FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Roger Martinez to maneuver through the defense. A collision led to Buenaventura FC getting a freekick after 12 minutes play. Victor Toledano hit a great ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Arixo Aponte in the 15th minute of play forced Buenaventura FC's goalkeeper Romel Torrijos to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 17th minute of the match Real Marabino got a corner. Buenaventura FC's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Arixo Aponte ran over to the corner to take the kick. 20 minutes into the match, Real Marabino's goal looked a bit too open when Andrés Chavez came free, but Ibon Toraño reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Ibon Toraño took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Andrés Chavez, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. A collision led to Buenaventura FC getting a freekick after 30 minutes play. Totín Henríguez hit a great ball. A hard shot by Arixo Aponte from long distance, 31 minutes into the match, got Romel Torrijos's attention. Through a fast twist with his body, he could stop the ball from going in on his right side. In the 36th minute, Arixo Aponte got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. A hard shot 37 in the game by Bobby Abreu from a close distance when the talented Romel Torrijos managed to make a qualified save. Buenaventura FC's players were relieved. Ibon Toraño stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Andrés Chavez's shot from short distance in the 40th minute. After having played for 45 minutes, Bobby Abreu managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Real Marabino's supporters crossed their fingers, but Bobby Abreu was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 1-0.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Bobby Abreu made a kick off. In the 51st minute Martin Porquera shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Romel Torrijos saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 60 minutes of play, Real Marabino's Bobby Abreu made it 3-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Romel Torrijos was left in no man's land by his defense there! Romel Torrijos showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Kinsen Aguinagalde, who was totally free with the ball in the 64th minute. Buenaventura FC's Romel Torrijos played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Bobby Abreu in the 65th minute of play. Real Marabino's Bautista Govantes was substituted for Arixo Aponte. Romel Torrijos took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Bobby Abreu, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Rolando Peralta kicked well hit freekick during the 70th minute of the match. In the 72nd minute, Bobby Abreu left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Real Marabino fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 4-0. After 74 played minutes Real Marabino got a freekick which was hit by Bobby Abreu. Real Marabino's Ibon Toraño played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Andrés Chavez in the 78th minute of play. 81 minutes into the match, Buenaventura FC's goal looked a bit too open when Bobby Abreu came free, but Romel Torrijos reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After 81 minutes, Leonidas Moscoso mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Buenaventura FC and the Real Marabino players grew even worse after the yellow card. Leonidas Moscoso kicked well hit freekick during the 81st minute of the match. When Bobby Abreu came up free with the goalie in the 82nd minute, the Real Marabino fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Bobby Abreu couldn't finish the play. Leonidas Moscoso kicked well hit freekick during the 86th minute of the match. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Bautista Govantes in the 87th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Romel Torrijos saved Buenaventura FC from getting behind. 90 minutes into the match, Buenaventura FC's goal looked a bit too open when Bautista Govantes came free, but Romel Torrijos reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line.
