Göran Gustafsson made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-1. After 19 played minutes Begu Ganjang got a freekick which was hit by Dodi Hermansyah. Mountainhammer United's Göran Gustafsson played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Wendy Widura in the 23rd minute of play. Sakarias Hafström kicked well hit freekick during the 23rd minute of the match. Virgiawan Soeprapto sent away a hard shot on goal in the 24th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Tonton Wiriadipura showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Victor Hellkvist, who was totally free with the ball in the 27th minute. In the 32nd minute, Begu Ganjang's Darto Munandar ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Göran Gustafsson. Göran Gustafsson yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 2-1. The supporters of Mountainhammer United booed when Begu Ganjang was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 39 match minutes in a wonderful position. Dodi Hermansyah didn't get a good kick on the ball. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 2-1.

Tonton Wiriadipura tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Eduard Suryadinata's late challenge caught a Mountainhammer United's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. After 95 minutes, Virgiawan Soeprapto mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Begu Ganjang and the Mountainhammer United players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 95th minute, Virgiawan Soeprapto hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The Mountainhammer United supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Mountainhammer United would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
