AC United's supporters crossed their fingers, but Rune Andreasson was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The supporters of Juventus F.C. booed when AC United was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 45 match minutes in a wonderful position. Erland Törnblom didn't get a good kick on the ball.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Algot Månsson to make the kick off. AC United's supporters were delighted with their team's performance and swarmed onto the pitch at the end of the match to celebrate the victory with the players.
