Elia Barberio started the match with the kick off. 3 minutes into the match, Adriano Vieri had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Juarês de Amaral. Marquês de Herval's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Adriano Vieri was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-1. In the 7th minute, Elia Barberio hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Marcus Simões in the 9thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Guglielmo Vicario, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. A collision led to Marquês de Herval getting a freekick after 12 minutes play. Ivo Rezende hit a great ball. Juarês de Amaral showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Elia Barberio, who was totally free with the ball in the 22nd minute. In the 25th minute, Adriano Vieri left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Atletico San Jacopino fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-2. An unexpectedly hard shot by Christian Marsili in the 36th minute of play forced Marquês de Herval's goalkeeper Juarês de Amaral to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 42nd minute, Virgílio Donatello got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After the first half Atletico San Jacopino were leading 0-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Marcus Simões stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. After a rather tough play, Atletico San Jacopino's Elia Barberio got a free kick in the 54th minute. Guglielmo Vicario came out of the goal in the 57th minute to try and stop a shot by Marquês de Herval's Marcus Simões. But to his dismay, Marcus Simões quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-2. With a little luck, Marquês de Herval's Juarês de Amaral got control of the ball when Bruno Contestabile tried to sneak it across the goal line. When the match had gone on for 66 minutes, Marcus Simões put it in 2-2 from a short distance just to the right of Guglielmo Vicario. In the 73rd minute, Atletico San Jacopino's Elia Barberio ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Juarês de Amaral. Juarês de Amaral yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 2-3. Adriano Vieri sent away a hard shot on goal in the 76th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The supporters of Atletico San Jacopino booed when Marquês de Herval was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 77 match minutes in a wonderful position. Matheus Soeiro didn't get a good kick on the ball. A collision led to Marquês de Herval getting a freekick after 96 minutes play. Diego Guimarães hit a great ball. Juarês de Amaral acted impressively in front of the goal and made a superb save when he, in the 97th minute, took the ball on the long shot from Alfonso Rotili. When the final whistle was heard the away supporters stood up and showed their joy. Atletico San Jacopino had managed to secure a win in what was a close match throughout.
