Cristo Elivareo was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. If Jaime Alvarez had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 20th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Barrialito AFC's Cristo Elivareo played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Beto Camps in the 25th minute of play. GuateFortín's Marcelo Quijada got a good chance for a goal in the 26th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After having played for 28 minutes, Danilo Viscarra managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. GuateFortín's supporters crossed their fingers, but Danilo Viscarra was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 40th minute, Barrialito AFC's Jaime Celio ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Jose Miguel Marin. Jose Miguel Marin yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 1-1. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Marcelo Quijada to make the kick off. Cristo Elivareo showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Danilo Viscarra in the 54th minute of the match. After 59 played minutes GuateFortín got a freekick which was hit by Danilo Viscarra. GuateFortín's Ruben Toledano was substituted for Ricardo Mora. GuateFortín's Wilber Barragan was substituted for Leonel Jimenez. Efren Viscarra was astounded when the referee showed him the red card after a seemingly innocent challenge, 63 minutes into the match. After 64 played minutes GuateFortín got a freekick which was hit by Efren Viscarra. 65 minutes into the match, Barrialito AFC's Jaime Celio broke free and took a long shot that unfortunately flew wide. A fine initiative that could have resulted in a goal. The supporters of Barrialito AFC booed when GuateFortín was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 69 match minutes in a wonderful position. Wilber Barragan didn't get a good kick on the ball. 70 minutes into the match, Barrialito AFC's goalkeeper Cristo Elivareo had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Gabriel Brizuela. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ruben Toledano in the 74th minute of play forced Barrialito AFC's goalkeeper Cristo Elivareo to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 75th minute, Jaime Alvarez hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Jose Miguel Marin made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Jacinto Raitin in the 76th minute of play. 85 minutes into the match, GuateFortín's goal looked a bit too open when Efrain Blai came free, but Jose Miguel Marin reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. With a little luck, Barrialito AFC's Cristo Elivareo got control of the ball when Danilo Viscarra tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 87th match minute, GuateFortín was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Wilber Barragan to maneuver through the defense. In the 88th minute, Jacinto Raitin hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. A collision led to GuateFortín getting a freekick after 92 minutes play. Marcelo Quijada hit a great ball. Jose Miguel Marin took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Hernan Socorro, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched GuateFortín eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
