Teodosio Txema hit a great freekick 11 minutes into the match. Cristo Elivareo made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Raimundo Backhouse in the 14th minute of play. 16 minutes into the match, Abel Gana had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Cristo Elivareo. Barrialito AFC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Abel Gana was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-0. Cristo Elivareo made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Abel Gana in the 18th minute of play. Cristo Elivareo showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Raimundo Backhouse in the 35th minute of the match. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Raimundo Backhouse in the 35th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Cristo Elivareo saved Barrialito AFC from getting behind. Club Deportes Santa Cruz's Teodosio Cerda played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Jacinto Raitin in the 38th minute of play. When Barrialito AFC's Jacinto Raitin, in the 39th minute, received a pass right in front of the net, it looked like a certain goal, but his shot went outside. A wasted opportunity for Barrialito AFC. If Hernan Socorro had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 42nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 45th minute Efrain Blai shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Teodosio Cerda saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Teodosio Cerda took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Jaime Celio, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 2-0 at half-time.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Abel Gana to make the kick off. When Julian Torres fell near the penalty area in the 53rd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Barrialito AFC's protests and gave Julian Torres a yellow card for diving instead. After a rather tough play, Barrialito AFC's Julian Torres got a free kick in the 53rd minute. Cristo Elivareo showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Abel Gana, who was totally free with the ball in the 55th minute. Efrain Blai might have been able to make a better finish in the 56th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Teodosio Cerda. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Efrain Blai ran back to his position shaking his head. Teodosio Cerda made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Hernan Socorro in the 58th minute of play. Barrialito AFC's Hernan Socorro suffered a concussion after 60 minutes and had to leave the field. 60 minutes into the game, Leoncio Mac Lean was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Club Deportes Santa Cruz's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Barrialito AFC the free kick. Barrialito AFC's Maximo Aresti was substituted for Hernan Socorro. In the 70th minute Maximo Aresti shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Teodosio Cerda saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If Jaime Celio had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 75th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Teodosio Cerda showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Efrain Blai in the 77th minute of the match. 86 minutes into the match, Club Deportes Santa Cruz's goal looked a bit too open when Efrain Blai came free, but Teodosio Cerda reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Teodosio Cerda took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Maximo Aresti, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The Club Deportes Santa Cruz players were eager to celebrate when the final whistle sounded. They had somehow managed to win, even though the away team had held the majority of the possession.
