With a little luck, Velez Sarsfield's Uriel Raymon got control of the ball when Celedonio Paz tried to sneak it across the goal line. The supporters of Velez Sarsfield booed when Los kyes was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 4 match minutes in a wonderful position. Dubardo Urbieta didn't get a good kick on the ball. 5 minutes into the match, Eusebio Procopio notched a goal, 0-1, to the right of Los kyes's Bertin Ramiréz. Bertin Ramiréz was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Isaac Marcones kicked well hit freekick during the 8th minute of the match. Dubardo Urbieta took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 9th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Uriel Raymon. Velez Sarsfield's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Velez Sarsfield were furious when Timoteo Berbiz was red carded, 13 minutes into the game, but the referee dismissed their protests. Timoteo Berbiz kicked well hit freekick during the 14th minute of the match. After 14 played minutes Isidor Zubizarreta scored with a long sweeping shot just to the left of Uriel Raymon who was too lazy, 1-1. Aire Mas kicked well hit freekick during the 19th minute of the match. Bertin Ramiréz took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Isaac Marcones, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. An unexpectedly hard shot by Franco Saavedra in the 28th minute of play forced Velez Sarsfield's goalkeeper Uriel Raymon to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 29 minutes into the game, Genaro Argina was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Velez Sarsfield's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Los kyes the free kick. Uriel Raymon made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Franco Saavedra in the 32nd minute of play. Bertin Ramiréz showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Isaac Marcones, who was totally free with the ball in the 35th minute. After 37 played minutes Los kyes got a freekick which was hit by Franco Saavedra. Uriel Raymon was a little too slow when Celedonio Paz got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 41st minute. The score was now 2-1. Jesus Napier's late challenge caught a Los kyes's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Jesus Napier helped the player get up and apologised. The supporters of Los kyes booed when Velez Sarsfield was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 46 match minutes in a wonderful position. Jesus Napier didn't get a good kick on the ball. When Celedonio Paz came up free with the goalie in the 47th minute, the Los kyes fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Celedonio Paz couldn't finish the play. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 2-1.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Isidor Zubizarreta to strike the kick off in the second half. A collision led to Los kyes getting a freekick after 52 minutes play. Gaizkine Flores hit a great ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 54th minute, Eusebio Procopio managed to get in a good position for a shot. Velez Sarsfield's supporters rose to their feet, but Eusebio Procopio was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Bertin Ramiréz breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 58th minute, Llorian Casals left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Los kyes fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 3-1. Uriel Raymon made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Isidor Zubizarreta in the 66th minute of play. Los kyes's players enjoyed the ovations of the crowd after the victory.
