The referee felt a red card was in order, 24 minutes into the game, when Mădălin Cârnațiu put in a rough tackle. In the 25th match minute, FC Buzău was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Mădălin Cârnațiu to maneuver through the defense. Ionel Lung did some fancy footwork in front of goal and succeeded to deceive the defenders so he could slam the ball in 3-0 to the left of a surprised Francisco Euloxu 38 minutes into the match. Francisco Euloxu didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Tudor Bosânceanu went, in the 47th minute, to the upper right corner, 4-0 was the resulting score. Af the end of the first half the score was 4-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.
The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Tomás Ruy was the one to do the kick off. Tomás Ruy took the ball and in the 56 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Gheorghe Vărzaru. Gheorghe Vărzaru dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 4-1. Francisco Euloxu made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Gelu Chivu in the 71st minute of play. 77 minutes into the game, Tudor Bosânceanu cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 5-2. Francisco Euloxu was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Gheorghe Vărzaru showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Jairo Rayman, who was totally free with the ball in the 83rd minute. In the 86th minute, Ionel Lung left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The FC Buzău fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 6-2. Gheorghe Vărzaru made a fantastic save in the 92nd minute, when Bonifacio Berasko sent off a good shot on target. A collision led to FC Buzău getting a freekick after 93 minutes play. Grigore Hulubei hit a great ball. Gheorghe Vărzaru acted impressively in front of the goal and made a superb save when he, in the 93rd minute, took the ball on the long shot from Honorio Transito. In the 96th minute Tudor Bosânceanu shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Francisco Euloxu saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. FC Buzău's supporters were highly satisfied with the result. They cheered their team of the pitch, having watched them win a very even match.
