Spectators: 7666 (Terracing: 5751, Seating: 1762, VIP seats: 153) The mood of the audience was pleasant when Pedro Luís Toscano made the kick off which started today's match. In the 3rd minute Belmiro Peñaranda shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Váldson de Queirós saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Belmiro Peñaranda in the 5th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Váldson de Queirós saved Palmeiras from getting behind. Hélio Guimarães kicked well hit freekick during the 9th minute of the match. CRUZ DEL SUR's Aristeo Oquendo couldn't find anyone to pass the ball to, so he shot a long shot towards the goal in the 10th minute. The shot went wide which resulted in a goal kick for Palmeiras. Horácio Lara recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 11th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Belmiro Peñaranda's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Váldson de Queirós read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 15th minute of play. In the 16th minute of the match CRUZ DEL SUR got a corner. Palmeiras's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Aristeo Oquendo ran over to the corner to take the kick. After taking down the ball on CRUZ DEL SUR's corner Aristeo Oquendo fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Váldson de Queirós quite easily take care of the ball. After 17 minutes, José Ignacio Berguecio mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the CRUZ DEL SUR and the Palmeiras players grew even worse after the yellow card. After 18 played minutes CRUZ DEL SUR got a freekick which was hit by José Ignacio Berguecio. Mónico Queirolo took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Horácio Lara, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Váldson de Queirós didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Belmiro Peñaranda went, in the 25th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-1 was the resulting score. After 31 minutes, Belmiro Peñaranda made it 0-2 with a short kick to the right side. Palmeiras's Váldson de Queirós tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. In the 36th match minute, Palmeiras was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Rodriguinho Carneiro to maneuver through the defense. The CRUZ DEL SUR fans' excitement grew in the 39th match minute when CRUZ DEL SUR's Belmiro Peñaranda looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 0-3 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. In the 42nd match minute, Palmeiras was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Téo Trancoso to maneuver through the defense. In the 47th match minute, Palmeiras was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Téo Trancoso to maneuver through the defense. After having played for 48 minutes, Aristeo Oquendo managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. CRUZ DEL SUR's supporters crossed their fingers, but Aristeo Oquendo was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The Palmeiras players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. CRUZ DEL SUR were winning 0-3.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Belmiro Peñaranda stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. José Ignacio Berguecio fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 57th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Váldson de Queirós having to interfere. In the 58th match minute, Palmeiras was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Pedro Luís Toscano to maneuver through the defense. The crowd rose to their feet as Belmiro Peñaranda kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Váldson de Queirós. That made the score 0-4 in the 63 minute of play. Váldson de Queirós stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Belmiro Peñaranda's shot from short distance in the 66th minute. 70 minutes had been played when some careless play by Palmeiras's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Aristeo Oquendo was slow to take the kick. During this time CRUZ DEL SUR's players had a chance to rest. The corner led CRUZ DEL SUR's Anacleto Tirado to fire away a dangerous shot which Váldson de Queirós despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Téo Trancoso during the 73rd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 73rd match minute, Palmeiras was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Téo Trancoso to maneuver through the defense. Aristeo Oquendo recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 74th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Belmiro Peñaranda might have been able to make a better finish in the 75th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Váldson de Queirós. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Belmiro Peñaranda ran back to his position shaking his head. An unexpectedly hard shot by Belmiro Peñaranda in the 83rd minute of play forced Palmeiras's goalkeeper Váldson de Queirós to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 90th minute Pedro Luís Toscano shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Mónico Queirolo saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 93rd minute, Belmiro Peñaranda left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The CRUZ DEL SUR fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-6. After a rather tough play, Palmeiras's Horácio Lara got a free kick in the 97th minute. The Palmeiras fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. CRUZ DEL SUR were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
