Frontera AFC's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. After a rather tough play, Coriano FC's Alberigo Cericola got a free kick in the 10th minute. Armando Adriano fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 14th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Sandro Guzmán having to interfere. After 18 played minutes Coriano FC got a freekick which was hit by Alberigo Cericola. In the 19th minute, Edmondo Genta hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 23 minutes into the match, Christian Vieri had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Sandro Guzmán. Frontera AFC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Christian Vieri was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-0. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Christian Vieri in the 29th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Sandro Guzmán saved Frontera AFC from getting behind. Dino Cara took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Filomeno Blai, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 35th minute of the match Frontera AFC got a corner. Coriano FC's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Brian Aguirre ran over to the corner to take the kick. Brian Aguirre made a great header on Frontera AFC's corner, it was just that Coriano FC's Dino Cara managed to reach the ball for a save. Christian Vieri in the 37thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 1-0.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Christian Vieri to strike the kick off in the second half. When Christian Vieri came up free with the goalie in the 53rd minute, the Coriano FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Christian Vieri couldn't finish the play. A collision led to Frontera AFC getting a freekick after 57 minutes play. Conrado Oxarra hit a great ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Camillo De Francesco in the 58th minute of play forced Frontera AFC's goalkeeper Sandro Guzmán to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Sandro Guzmán stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Christian Vieri's shot from short distance in the 60th minute. When the match clock showed 60 minutes, the score became 2-0 when Christian Vieri sped through Frontera AFC's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Sandro Guzmán. Coriano FC were furious when Fortunato Del Pizzo was red carded, 72 minutes into the game, but the referee dismissed their protests. 71 minutes into the game, one of Coriano FC:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. 79 minutes into the game, Alejo Calixto was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Frontera AFC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Coriano FC the free kick. The supporters of Coriano FC booed when Frontera AFC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 79 match minutes in a wonderful position. Alejo Calixto didn't get a good kick on the ball. After 80 played minutes Coriano FC got a freekick which was hit by Emanuele Boccanera. Coriano FC's Donato Tullo got a good chance for a goal in the 83rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. If Armando Adriano had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 89th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Donato Tullo fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 95th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Sandro Guzmán having to interfere. For all the effort they put into the match, the Frontera AFC players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for Coriano FC.
