A collision led to EDI MZB getting a freekick after 4 minutes play. Sidnei Fernandez hit a great ball. César Cardozo was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 4th played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. In the 7th minute César Cardozo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Tarcisio Gerber saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Tiago Machado in the 10th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Doriva Simões prevented the ball from getting in the gole. When EDI MZB's Tiago Machado in the 10th minute got a chance for a shot 10th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye CA Metropolitano - FSCMZ's goalie prevented a goal. In the 12th minute, Ediberto Xavier hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Doriva Simões made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Tiago Machado in the 13th minute of play. Tiago Machado had several of the CA Metropolitano - FSCMZ's defenders around him in the penalty area when he, after 16 minutes of play, received a pass and succeeded in some way to shoot a shot which went straight ahead into goal. This resulted in a 1-0 score and a disappointed Doriva Simões as he didn't even see the shot coming. A collision led to EDI MZB getting a freekick after 19 minutes play. Fábio Alves hit a great ball. 27 minutes had been played when some careless play by CA Metropolitano - FSCMZ's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Danilo Pires was slow to take the kick. During this time EDI MZB's players had a chance to rest. EDI MZB's Danilo Pires was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Doriva Simões in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. In the 36th minute, EDI MZB's Edi Souza ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Doriva Simões. Doriva Simões yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 3-0. Tarcisio Gerber showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Reginaldo Borges, who was totally free with the ball in the 42nd minute. Belmiro Sanchess short, quick shot in the 43rdth minute got Doriva Simões to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. In the 45th minute, Eduardo Duarte hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Doriva Simões was a little too slow when Tiago Machado got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 46th minute. The score was now 4-0. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 4-0.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. César Cardozo was the one to do the kick off. Tarcisio Gerber showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from César Cardozo, who was totally free with the ball in the 52nd minute. Doriva Simões came out of the goal in the 56th minute to try and stop a shot by EDI MZB's Didi Mesquita. But to his dismay, Didi Mesquita quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 5-0. Tarcisio Gerber took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Júnior Tinoco, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. An unexpectedly hard shot by Júnior Tinoco in the 70th minute of play forced EDI MZB's goalkeeper Tarcisio Gerber to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 72 minutes into the match, EDI MZB's goalkeeper Tarcisio Gerber had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by César Cardozo. The supporters of CA Metropolitano - FSCMZ booed when EDI MZB was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 78 match minutes in a wonderful position. Caio Sergipano didn't get a good kick on the ball. When Júnior Tinoco came up free with the goalie in the 80th minute, the CA Metropolitano - FSCMZ fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Júnior Tinoco couldn't finish the play. 82 minutes into the game, César Cardozo cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 5-1. Tarcisio Gerber was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. After some careless play in the CA Metropolitano - FSCMZ defense, Tiago Machado kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Doriva Simões. The CA Metropolitano - FSCMZ fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Doriva Simões should have stopped the shot. The crowd rose to their feet as CA Metropolitano - FSCMZ's Júnior Tinoco slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Tarcisio Gerber. That made the score 6-2 after 92 minutes of play. In the 96th minute there was a penalty for CA Metropolitano - FSCMZ. César Cardozo stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Tarcisio Gerber. 6-3. EDI MZB's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
