The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. In the 3rd match minute, Imperio Catatumbo de Lara was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Nazario Monteserin to maneuver through the defense. Ipar Estebanes made a fantastic save in the 4th minute, when Santos Lauren sent off a good shot on target. Elpidio Paul kicked well hit freekick during the 5th minute of the match. When Justino Pio fell near the penalty area in the 7th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Cuervos Galácticos's protests and gave Justino Pio a yellow card for diving instead. In a very dangerous position, a player in Cuervos Galácticos fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 6th minute. Penalty! Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Vitor Sarceada in the 17th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Hipolito Cordera prevented the ball from getting in the gole. If Elpidio Paul had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 18th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Elpidio Paul's late challenge caught a Imperio Catatumbo de Lara's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Elpidio Paul helped the player get up and apologised. A collision led to Cuervos Galácticos getting a freekick after 19 minutes play. Elpidio Paul hit a great ball. In the 25thth minute of the game Vitor Sarceada who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Cuervos Galácticos's Hipolito Cordera was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Silvano Ariztegui hit a great freekick 28 minutes into the match. Maximino Ekain sent away a hard shot on goal in the 31st minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. When the match clock showed 31 minutes, the score became 1-0 when Emilio Frasquito sped through Imperio Catatumbo de Lara's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Ipar Estebanes. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Vitor Sarceada in the 40th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Hipolito Cordera saved Cuervos Galácticos from getting behind. Paulo Deunoro was astounded when the referee showed him the red card after a seemingly innocent challenge, 41 minutes into the match. Paulo Deunoro hit a great freekick 42 minutes into the match. After some fancy dribbling in the 43rd minute, Gilberto Tavira managed to get in a good position for a shot. Imperio Catatumbo de Lara's supporters rose to their feet, but Gilberto Tavira was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Hipolito Cordera breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After 44 minutes, Sebastian Domingues mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Cuervos Galácticos and the Imperio Catatumbo de Lara players grew even worse after the yellow card. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 1-0 at half-time.

The Imperio Catatumbo de Lara fans' excitement grew in the 55th match minute when Imperio Catatumbo de Lara's Vitor Sarceada looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 1-1 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. After some careless play in the Cuervos Galácticos defense, Vitor Sarceada kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Hipolito Cordera. The Cuervos Galácticos fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Hipolito Cordera should have stopped the shot. Imperio Catatumbo de Lara's Bernardo Labora was substituted for Padro Elano. In the 75th minute, Vitor Sarceada got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. 79 minutes into the game, Vitor Sarceada lined in a short shot 1-3 behind a frustrated Hipolito Cordera. Ipar Estebanes came out of the goal in the 82nd minute to try and stop a shot by Cuervos Galácticos's Santos Lauren. But to his dismay, Santos Lauren quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-3. Bernardo Labora kicked well hit freekick during the 88th minute of the match. Vitor Sarceada's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 91stth minute, Hipolito Cordera skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. Ipar Estebanes took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Santos Lauren, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The Imperio Catatumbo de Lara supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Imperio Catatumbo de Lara would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
