Hugo Hellqvist's late challenge caught a PHOENIX SC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Emil Lindman could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 7th minute of the match, but Markus Sirait made a huge save. David Möller hit a great freekick 10 minutes into the match. The audience thought a goal was coming when Ian Ekström got free with Markus Sirait in the 13th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After a rather tough play, PHOENIX SC's Trent Alexander-Arnold got a free kick in the 13th minute. After some fancy dribbling in the 14th minute, Emil Lindman managed to get in a good position for a shot. Elmtaryd Agunnaryd's supporters rose to their feet, but Emil Lindman was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Justin Hubner charged in rather forcefully in the 26th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. Elmtaryd Agunnaryd's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Ida Bagus Zulfan was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-2. 38 minutes into the match, Elmtaryd Agunnaryd's goal looked a bit too open when Bagol Kalla came free, but John Brandt reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. If Herman Falkrantz had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 43rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Ishaq Afiff fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 45th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without John Brandt having to interfere. Disappointed in the 0-2 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The supporters of Elmtaryd Agunnaryd booed when PHOENIX SC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 50 match minutes in a wonderful position. Stanley Budikusuma didn't get a good kick on the ball. Elmtaryd Agunnaryd's Michael Baba Brundin got a good chance for a goal in the 51st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The supporters of Elmtaryd Agunnaryd booed when PHOENIX SC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 55 match minutes in a wonderful position. Trent Alexander-Arnold didn't get a good kick on the ball. Elmtaryd Agunnaryd's Carl Larsson was substituted for Ove Björck. Hugo Hellqvist was shown his second yellow card after 70 minutes, following a rather ugly tackle on opponent. That was the end of his participation in the match. The audience thought a goal was coming when Bagol Kalla got free with John Brandt in the 72nd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. John Brandt had in the 75thth minute some difficulties stopping Bagol Kalla's well aimed penalty as it nearly passed him on his left side, but he still managed to hold the ball. A collision led to PHOENIX SC getting a freekick after 86 minutes play. Stanley Budikusuma hit a great ball. Elmtaryd Agunnaryd's Michael Baba Brundin couldn't find anyone to pass the ball to, so he shot a long shot towards the goal in the 86th minute. The shot went wide which resulted in a goal kick for PHOENIX SC. PHOENIX SC's Markus Sirait played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ian Ekström in the 88th minute of play. Markus Sirait came out of the goal in the 88th minute to try and stop a shot by Elmtaryd Agunnaryd's Ian Ekström. But to his dismay, Ian Ekström quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-4. When Federico Chiesa fell near the penalty area in the 91st minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored PHOENIX SC's protests and gave Federico Chiesa a yellow card for diving instead. Markus Sirait made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Herman Falkrantz in the 92nd minute of play. When Herman Falkrantz fell near the penalty area in the 93rd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Elmtaryd Agunnaryd's protests and gave Herman Falkrantz a yellow card for diving instead. Herman Falkrantz kicked well hit freekick during the 93rd minute of the match. After 95 played minutes Elmtaryd Agunnaryd got a freekick which was hit by Sven-Ove Berggren. Ishaq Afiff was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 96th played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. In the 98th minute Ishaq Afiff shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but John Brandt saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When the final whistle was heard the away supporters stood up and showed their joy. PHOENIX SC had managed to secure a win in what was a close match throughout.
