Eelco Neijsen showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 1-0. After 17 minutes, Filip Smit mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Winthont FC and the Pesqueira City players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 17th match minute, Winthont FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Filip Smit to maneuver through the defense. Enéas Borges stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Kurt Neijsen's shot from short distance in the 48th minute. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 1-1 after a close first half.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Eelco Neijsen made a kick off. 57 minutes into the game, Kurt Neijsen cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 2-1. Enéas Borges was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Fokke Bergman made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Luiz Eduardo Santos in the 65th minute of play. In the 66th minute, Benjamin Bender hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Luiz-Henrique Pesqueira hit a great freekick 69 minutes into the match. 71 minutes into the match, Pesqueira City's goal looked a bit too open when Kurt Neijsen came free, but Enéas Borges reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Eelco Neijsen during the 80th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Eelco Neijsen hit a great freekick 80 minutes into the match. Fokke Bergman yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 2-3. In the 99th minute of the match Winthont FC got a corner. Pesqueira City's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Eelco Neijsen ran over to the corner to take the kick. The corner ended in Eelco Neijsen almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Pesqueira City's Enéas Borges did a great save. In the 99thth minute of the game Sipke Oosting who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Pesqueira City's Enéas Borges was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. The Pesqueira City supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Pesqueira City would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
