After 3 minutes, Bebeto Mendes mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Pesqueira City and the Ilulea FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. A collision led to Pesqueira City getting a freekick after 4 minutes play. Bebeto Mendes hit a great ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Luizão Pesqueira in the 5th minute of play forced Ilulea FC's goalkeeper Jose Chilavert to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Jose Chilavert showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Ronaldo Guimarães in the 6th minute of the match. After 13 played minutes Ilulea FC got a freekick which was hit by Victoriano Ixona. Pesqueira City's Enéas Borges played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Victoriano Ixona in the 23rd minute of play. Valentin Lesardo could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 26th minute of the match, but Enéas Borges made a huge save. 26 minutes into the game, Valentin Lesardo recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Enéas Borges. Valentin Lesardo showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 1-1. If Victoriano Ixona had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 29th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. In the 29th minute, Victoriano Ixona got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After some careless play in the Ilulea FC defense, Ronaldo Guimarães kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Jose Chilavert. The Ilulea FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Jose Chilavert should have stopped the shot. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 1-4.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Ronaldo Guimarães stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Thanks to some nice moves Ronaldo Guimarães could shoot a difficult shot in the 54th minute, which Jose Chilavert however easily saved by the left post. After 58 played minutes Bebeto Mendes rounded Ilulea FC's defense and shot a beautiful shot into goal via left pole - 1-5. 60 minutes into the match, Luizão Pesqueira had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Jose Chilavert. Ilulea FC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Luizão Pesqueira was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-6. 69 minutes into the match, Pesqueira City's goal looked a bit too open when Saturnino Ezkerra came free, but Enéas Borges reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 71 minutes into the match, Ilulea FC's goal looked a bit too open when Bebeto Mendes came free, but Jose Chilavert reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 73rd minute Saturnino Ezkerra shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Enéas Borges saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Jose Chilavert was a little too slow when Ronaldo Guimarães got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 75th minute. The score was now 1-7. Ilulea FC's defense didn't have a chance, in the 80th minute, when Bebeto Mendes scored to the left of an out of position Jose Chilavert, making the score, 1-8. Maximo Kepa charged in rather forcefully in the 83rd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Maximo Kepa the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 83rd match minute, Ilulea FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Maximo Kepa to maneuver through the defense. Ronaldo Guimarães took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 84th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Jose Chilavert. Ilulea FC's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. When Matias Sandalio fell near the penalty area in the 85th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Ilulea FC's protests and gave Matias Sandalio a yellow card for diving instead. Matias Sandalio kicked well hit freekick during the 85th minute of the match.
