The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. After a rather tough play, Deportivo Mandiyu's Federico Anaya got a free kick in the 2nd minute. 5 minutes into the game, Fabricio Chale was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Deportivo Mandiyu's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Älta BK the free kick. Fabricio Chale kicked well hit freekick during the 6th minute of the match. In the 7th minute, Lars-Erik Brogren hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The supporters of Älta BK booed when Deportivo Mandiyu was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 10 match minutes in a wonderful position. Aurelio Berbiz didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 15th minute, Federico Anaya reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Edgar Grep. The goal made the score 1-0. If Federico Anaya had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 18th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Federico Anaya could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 18th minute of the match, but Edgar Grep made a huge save. A collision led to Deportivo Mandiyu getting a freekick after 20 minutes play. Bernabe Sanchez hit a great ball. The audience was convinced that Federico Anaya's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Edgar Grep was relentless in the 23rd minute of the game. After some fancy dribbling in the 26th minute, Federico Anaya managed to get in a good position for a shot. Deportivo Mandiyu's supporters rose to their feet, but Federico Anaya was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Edgar Grep breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Oscar Dalkvist kicked well hit freekick during the 30th minute of the match. Deportivo Mandiyu's Hipolito Bizen played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Sonny Ek in the 34th minute of play. In the 36th minute Per-Erik Bergfeldt shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Hipolito Bizen saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Fabricio Chales short, quick shot in the 37thth minute got Edgar Grep to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. Isaac Esdras hit a great freekick 38 minutes into the match. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Lars-Erik Brogren during the 39th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. The supporters of Deportivo Mandiyu booed when Älta BK was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 39 match minutes in a wonderful position. Lars-Erik Brogren didn't get a good kick on the ball. Per-Erik Bergfeldt fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 42nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Hipolito Bizen having to interfere. In the 45th minute, Fabricio Chale left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Deportivo Mandiyu fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 2-0. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 2-0.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Fabricio Chale to strike the kick off in the second half. Hipolito Bizen came out of the goal in the 57th minute to try and stop a shot by Älta BK's Per-Erik Bergfeldt. But to his dismay, Per-Erik Bergfeldt quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-1. Älta BK's Gabriel Apelqvist was substituted for Joel Danielsson. Älta BK's Nils-Emil Engman was substituted for Lars-Erik Brogren. After a rather tough play, Deportivo Mandiyu's Maximo Sidro got a free kick in the 63rd minute. Orlando Engelaar recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 64th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Älta BK's Edgar Grep played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Federico Anaya in the 67th minute of play. Maximo Sidro hit a great freekick 72 minutes into the match. Deportivo Mandiyu made a substitution. Silvano Ongile replaced Fabricio Chale. Deportivo Mandiyu made a substitution. Delmar Quintin replaced Maximo Sidro. Hipolito Bizen took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Per-Erik Bergfeldt, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 77th minute, Moises Hartz hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 80 minutes into the match, Laureano Eladio notched a goal, 3-1, to the right of Älta BK's Edgar Grep. Edgar Grep was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Edgar Grep took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Silvano Ongile, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Sonny Ek received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 86th minute. Hipolito Bizen tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Jim Stephansson sent away a hard shot on goal in the 89th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Stig-Åke Alström kicked well hit freekick during the 94th minute of the match. In the 95th minute Laureano Eladio shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Edgar Grep saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Deportivo Mandiyu fans cheered their team off the field, for while Älta BK had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
